２段か３段か迷いましたが、長さが欲しいので３段を買いました。２段目の節を外して、１段目と３段目を繋げれば２段としても使えるかもと、淡い期待を持っていましたが。なんと、それぞれの節は外せません！完全にバラせば外せるでしょうが、「ネジを緩めてスポッと抜く」ことは出来ません。細めで軽量ですが、なかなかしっかりしています。マンフロットのスーパークランプなどと組み合わせれば、結構、使えると思います。

I bought two of these arms to hold a pair of Neewer LED lamps, mounted to my bench with Manfrotto Super Clamps. I've previously used a Manfrotto Super Clamp and a Manfrotto Variable Friction Magic Arm to hold cameras, and those worked great. I thought that the Manfrotto 196AB-3 3-Section Single Articulated Arm should be a more affordable way to support my new lamps, but they fall far short. The manufacturer's specifications state that the arms are rated to support up to 2.2 pounds at maximum extension, and my lamps weigh 2.0 pounds. I found that the pivot clamps on these arms do not clamp tightly enough to keep the whole thing from flopping over at the bottom pivot if the center of mass is anywhere other than directly above the Super Clamp. Even with the arms folded to have a reach equivalent to 1-section or 2-section arms, they can't handle my 2 pound LED lamps satisfactorily.I haven't bothered to experiment to see just how much weight the arms might support when they are fully extended horizontally, but I can say that they will not come anywhere close to meeting the manufacturer's specifications. I plan to save up and order a pair of the Variable Friction Magic Arms instead. I tried mounting one of my lamps on my Magic Arm's camera shoe adapter, and it supported the weight without any problems.Unless you just need to support a small bundle of feathers, save your money and spend more of it on a Variable Friction Magic Arm instead. Those don't have the same reach and they weigh more in your bags, but they can actually support some usable weight when oriented horizontally.

Come sempre, manfrotto è sinonimo di garanzia.Gli snodi sono assolutamente scorrevoli a serraggi laschi, rendendo il posizionamento facile e immediato, e resistenti a manopole serrate, garantendo stabilità e fermezza a tutto il sistema. Carico massimo dichiarato assolutamente reale, non ho mai avuto problemi di capacità di tenuta.I due terminali hanno rispettivamente una femmina filettata da 1/4" e 3/8", rendendo quindi possibile l'avvitamento al terminale dello stativo che presenta il relativo maschio, qualora non si possedesse una femmina da 16 mm

Well enough made for the light loads it is intended for.Two things you may not see in the picture- The two machined ends can mount straight into a super clamp - no need for a brass bit.- The 3 sections do not come apart. In case you wanted just a 2 section configuration, the tubes do not simply slide out. On the other hand, this is a feature in that the tubes do not slide out when you are adjusting.
