I tried this out on a hvac install and everything appears to function as advertised and there is an insane amount of settings there seems to be a steep learning curve involved and the instructions leave a little to be desired and it’s going to take some time to figure out how best to use it properly as it’s not something I have experience with otherwise it does the thing and it’s just going to take time for me to learn how to use it correctly and to its full potential otherwise it is no doubt an amazing addition to any HVAC toolkit

This manometer is well made and includes all the usual features and measurements you'd look for from a hand-held device. I don't have another unit to calibrate against, and I actually plan to use this to calibrate some custom-built components using discrete parts. My only minor complaint, given that it is documented in the listing, is that the 0.1 resolution limits some of the applicability - it'd be nice to have a bit more resolution for finer-grained measurements (A/C systems, furnaces, etc...)

I wanted this item for the purpose of measuring the pressure drop across furnace filters. If the pressure drop gets high it means one of two things, either the flow rate is very high, or there is significant dirt/dust accumulation in the filter that is causing a low flow (with a high pressure drop.)The bad news is that the Manufacturer's design of this meter is such that it will only measure down to the 10ths of an inch of water pressure, which is marginal. My reading was 0.2" of water pressure. (which really means the actual pressure drop was between 0.15" and 0.24" of water pressure drop, but the measuring device was not accurate enough to measure this. (so think of this putting out the same pressure differential as a quarter inch of water in a cup. If you get upwards of 1/2" of water in a cup for a pressure drop you could start having problems with your furnace due to low flows! It may even trip the firing of the furnace until the furnace has a chance to cool down.Sometimes it is also due to the filter rating. Excellent filters are now available. Filters that can virtually scrub the air clean of even microscopic particles virtually making the cleaning of the outlet ducts unnecessary, or at least allowing a much greater time between cleaning. Unfortunately, these filters usually have a relatively high pressure drop brand new. With the advent of variable speed fans it seems possible that a fan that is capable of putting out high pressures and high flow would be real. And the bottom line for this meter is, if the operation range could be made reasonably accurate down to 1/100" of water pressure this could be a valuable tool for analyzing furnace filter.
