For other countries user, a summary : DON'T BUY THE MAFALDINE ACCESSORY OR YOU'LL EAT PLASTIC IN GENEROUS AMOUNT.Note : L'avis est pour l'accessoire Mafaldine.C'est invraissemblable qu'un tel accessoire puisse être vendu.

I love Marcato and I think the atlas 150 is a very well built machine. I've had mine for 7 years and run pounds and pounds of pasta through it. That being said they really need to revisit the design and build of some of these attachments. The mafaldine cutters dig into the plastic roller and shred little pieces of plastic into the pasta. The roller needs to be some form of self healing silicone etc. The gears are metal but they are about the width of a penny. Within my first use the spindles slipped out of line and caused the gears to disengage. This meant the plastic roller wasnt moving at all on its own. This further cause build up inside the machine because it wasnt being pushed out properly. I ended up completely disassembling the unit and using the cutter as a cutting pin to manually cut the last few sheets i had. I initiated a return and will be shipping back all the broken loose components. Marcato really dropped the ball on this one and created a massively frustrating experience for a seasoned pasta maker.

So, as other reviews have indicated, this attachment (and it looks like the pappardelle and reginette attachments) have one metal roller cutting the laced fringes of these pasta shapes against a nylon roller on the other side. It's clear why: the fluting needs to push cleanly through the pasta dough, so the nylon's slight give allows for pressure. But there are two issues that arise as a result: first, the metal roller cuts into the nylon, producing little slivers of nylon every once in a while. I'm actually not as much bothered by this as other reviewers, but it is a little annoying. The much bigger issue, and why I'm giving it a one-star, is that it became clear after 2-3 uses why you're only supposed to use the hand-crank and not the motor with the mafaldine, reginette, and pappardelle attachments (which, to be clear, I don't have the motor, so I've only used the hand-crank with my mafaldine attachment): the constant contact and pressure between the metal and nylon roller means that there's more resistance when cranking. I think if you crank slowly, then that's probably not a problem, but apparently I crank way too fast, because the counter-torque from the nylon-metal interface stripped whatever soldering there was between the gear and the metal roller. In other words, now when I crank, it just moves the nylon roller, the gear for the metal roller spins, but the metal roller itself stays put. Sometimes it moves a little bit due to the friction with the nylon roller and the pasta dough, but only in fits and starts, so it's pretty much useless. Pretty disappointed that it seems like this issue arises after a few uses, (i.e., after the return window closes), since now I'm stuck with it. I'd suggest that people either not buy one of these attachments (mafaldine, reginette, or pappardelle), or, if they do, take it really slowly when cranking.

I bought the Atlas 150 and wanted to add attachments to create different pasta shapes. I started to cut the pasta and noticed that the dough was sticking.so I added more flour and rolled some pasta through the cutter and saw what I thought was excess flour at the base of the machine.. Well it turns out that it was plastic from the roller. Since the dough was jamming in the rollers, i added more flour until I got frustrated and switch to the rollers that came with the pasta machine and had no issues with my pasta dough. When I went to clean the attachment that is when I noticed the grooves in the plastic roller and had a hard time clearing the pasta from the cutter. It took a day of digging and shaking to finally get the caked on pasta from the cutter. I was very disappointed with this attachment since I did not have this issue with the included attachment. I bought a vermicelli attachment and if I have the same issue I will not be buying anymore Marcato products to add to my collection of their products (pasta rack, and ravioli molds). I will toss out my wish list of Marcato pasta cutter attachments.

Excellent product! We use this to make home made chicken noodle soup. I’m too Norwegian to know the exact noodle style for perfect chicken noodle soup but we really like this size haha so it’s what we use, it’s perfect for us. Some flour and eggs and that’s it. Easy. Again, great product.

No instructions about dough consistency. My dough kept gumming up the attachment and I did not know what I was doing wrong. It is well made but takes some work to clean.

It would be nice to have the dimensions for each pasta, and photos of each pasta. It might just lower returns of this equipment. Otherwise the machine does as advertised. Make sure you hold the dimensions for the ravioli, it,s quite a mess til you get it down.
