This didn’t fit as it should. The tiny screws fell out while using the boat. The original one lasted 20 + years. This one lasted less than a week.

I bought the southco brand and this comparable but less expensive brand. In a side by side comparison the southco is way better. It is a brighter white and the plastic has a better feel. The inside of the latch handle is a bit sharp on the cheapo vs smooth on the southco. The latch handle also does not pull all the way up at a 90 degree angle, like the southco. I imagine that does not matter and the latch will still open..maybe the spring inside is still stiff. The best part about this product is that it comes with a couple of spacer rings, which I wish the southco had. The southco has better bolts for the latch, but does not come w screws for the strike. This product has screws for the latch part and the strike, though im not sure they are 316 stainless steel and will hold up for long in saltwater. Ill be keeping the Southco for a livewell lid on a saltwater boat and send this product back.

Slightly wider then what was stock in boat. Had to grind an 1/8 off the edges Alsonthe acrews are very small. Not sure the durability with these tiny screws

It wasn't a perfect replacement for my Chaparral latches until I filed out a couple of small notches. Perhaps the Chaparral hole is slightly smaller that the industry standard.
