I have been a union tuck pointer for 35 years. Bought this because of the cheaper price. It's hard to find ones this big. I like this and I still use it but it is a little flimsy for my taste. I probably would not buy it again for that reason

Difficult to find this wide tuckpointer.The Chinese imitations do not stand up.

This is a good size tool. I got two , to trim it even thinner, but as is handles the majority of jobs. Of course practice makes perfect, it’s all in the hand but this quality good weight tool helps.

It is hard to beat these Marshalltown trowels and tuck pointers. I picked up a couple from a different brand that turned out to be made of soft stamped stainless steel, and just threw them out. Worthless. These are made of excellent springy heat treated carbon steel which is perfect. Good welds and workmanship. Well worth the price. Keep them clean and store them away from water and they will outlast you.As far as the particular item's 3/4 inch width goes, it's too wide for most jobs (1/2 to 5/8 inch is more typical for brick), but for larger stone jobs, if you need one, you need one.
