Your cart is empty.Do you experience pain and fatigue in your fingers, hand, wrist, forearm, elbow, upper arm, shoulder, or neck and back after a full day of cutting? Do you have problems with arthritis, carpel tunnel syndrome, or tendonitis? Then the Martelli ErgoCutter—the only truly ergonomic rotary cutter—is right for you! Unlike traditional rotary cutters, the ErgoCutter is held in a natural position with your arm and palm of your hand evenly distributing all of the pressure. It relies on pressure from your entire arm and hand instead of just your wrist and fingers.

I use these rotary cutters whenever I am working on cutting out fabric using a sewing pattern, as well as for cutting strips or other shapes for making piece items such as quilts. I have some naturally-occurring arthritis in my hands but Martelli cutters make working on projects so much easier. I also use their blades exclusively. Both are a win-win in my opinion.

This is by far the best rotary cutter I've ever used. With the standard "vertical" cutters, even with a sharp blade, I feel my wrist rebels at the pressure imparted while cutting. With the Martinelli cutter, I use no undue force to my cut because it's ergonomically designed to not stress the wrists, keeping them in a natural position. I have both a right-handed, and a left-handed model, and I can switch easily from one to the other without thinking about it. I can, and do, even sit while cutting. What joy! It's to bad this cutter is not the standard, and that all the major sewing outlets have only the normal Fiskers or Westcott, etc. Those are poor designs.

Far more comfortable for this southpaw than the “universal” fit of a straight handle rotary cutter. Takes a bit of practice to cut straight over a longer distance, but well worth the effort, and the blades are SHARP!

Finally, a rotary cutter that lets me cut with ease and precision! I've been cutting towards myself, rather than away, for too many years and now I don't have to! Easily cuts through 6 layers of fabric at once. My only issue is the blade has a dent or nick in it (right out of the package) so I have to run it through twice, or use scissors, to make things work - hence 4 instead of 5 stars. Afraid to change the blade as it's supposed to last for years. I will be contacting Martelli to see about a fix for it. But in the meantime, I'm pretty happy!

Have used one of these for years and never needed to change blade, even cutting off jeans hems for my at the time, alteration business, 6+ years ago, now comes time to change blade, but thought I would buy a new cutter, have one for vinyl, bagmaking, and one for patchwork. Best cutters ever and I will tell anyone that wants to listen, :) or not, but best ever.

This is the best - what a fabulous design! I am so glad it was recommended to me as it is so much better than a traditional style cutter. You do need to be careful to hold it as instructed or I think it could be easy to cut yourself. There is a small black (rubber??) piece that falls out of the blade protector when I close it. I'm not sure what is the purpose of this piece, as the blade protector is fully functional without it, so I just keep replacing the piece and am considering adding a spot of glue. Again, totally not important to either function or safety that I can tell. I cannot get the blade unscrewed to replace it, but will try a pair of pliers which I am sure will work.

So so glad this exists! Its very comfortable and easy to use. It has a built in feature to cover up the blade which is easy to use. I'm happy that I also find this sturdy to keep my hand from slipping or possibly cutting myself. The blade is the sharpest blade I've EVER had to deal with above my knives etc so I was really surprised how I didn't need to apply any preasure and yet it cut the cloths. Loved this and its a great left handed tool!Note: I am new to using rotery cutters.

Update 2022: My rotary cutter broke! The spring came off in a middle of a project. I looked for a video to fix it but the only video I found was for right handed and hole is in a different spot not easy to do even with Tweezers. I’m very sad. I would like to fix it but I don’t know how and buying another one will take at least 2 weeks to come. They should of made a video to fix left handed rotary cutter. We are always left out. So now I gave less stars this time.2020:Love this left handed rotary cutter, I had mine for 2 years now (since 2018), and I tell everyone about it that comes in my sewing room. Being left-handed it is hard to find A good rotary cutters. I’m thankful the FB quilting group posted about this rotary cutter. The blades last a long time compared to others.

This is the best rotary cutter hands down. I cut fabric every single day, and it hasn't failed me. (the blade is getting a little dull though, so I'll have to buy the pack of blades to switch this one out). It's SO easy to use. Other people have complained about having to clean it out frequently, but I just literally never use the spring action blade cover. It tends to drag bits of fabric and dust up into the rotary cutter where you cant reach. I just put it in a safe place. You could easily DIY a cover for this and not have to worry.I love this rotary cutter and this will be the only one I use probably forever. It's comfortable, glides so nicely, and it doesn't strain my hands.

I really like my left handed martelli cutter. I had a hard time cutting with it until I watched the video on how to properly use it. It works much better than my friskars cutter and will cut through multiple layers of material with ease. It is also very comfortable to hold.

WOW! Using this has made such a difference. As a lefty I typically have just used the straight rotartary cutters in the past; didn't realize just how much of a difference this would make in the accuracy of my cuts. And the handle is much easier to use - no wrist fatique. Only suggestion I'd make to users is to look carefully where the blade comes out when you first change blades; it is held - very securely- and the slot is very narrow. Might be nice if one side of the plastic sloth was a different color to better distinguish it. Easy to use once you know where the blade slides in, but the slot is not really obvious. Otherwise, this is a wonderful addition to my cutting tool assortment!
