We have used this filter in low light conditions with a flash and in brighter outdoor conditions. Minimal-no starburst effects noted in the photos from other light sources in the picture. The double threaded filter also allows for the use of the lens hood at the same time. The filter is much better than expected.

This is a quality filter at a fraction of the cost comparing to B+W and the rating is only a small tad lower. I use this filter on my 18-250mm DC OIS HSM Sigma lens. Works great!
