My toilet is loaded with rust& lime. When it was new,20yrs ago, I installed it with this model & it still works fine. Now it's time to change the toilet, so I got another one.

Worked well at first then after around 4 months the shut off valve stopped working and the toilet ran constantly. Replaced with a Danco model hopefully it will last longer.

If you have low water pressure this is the toilet tank valve for you!I have a rather unique water system because my basement toilet is filled by the pressure from my surface water well which is only about 8 feet above the toilet and thus the water pressure is just 4 PSi (normal domestic water pressures are 40-80 PSI). The newer style toilet tank values that have a float that surrounds the fill pipe have a very short lever arm that opens and closes the valve, so they also have a spring to help close the valve. With only 4 PSI those vales will not open in my toilet. With the longer float arm this valve does not need the extra spring and will open. Other people have complained that this valve is noisy, but with only 4 PSI its very quiet.I'm very happy with it, but is not too hard to make me happy when so many of the alternative valves won't work at all for me..
