About this item

  • Matala 1/2" Diffuser Tubing is a great way to aerate a large pond, water garden or small lake!
  • Very economical option, allows for more complete aeration!
  • Flexible tubing allows you to move it around as needed!
  • Can also be cut into smaller sections to aerate large portions of water!
  • Recommended Flow Rate: 0.45-1.1 CFM per linear foot.

This 1/2 Inch ID Non-Weighted Diffuser Tubing from Matala offers an economical alternative to traditional membrane disc and stone diffusers. Instead of having an air hose that delivers air to a few concentrated points in your pond, this hose provides oxygenation across its entire length! Made from recycled materials, this diffuser tubing is perfect for aerating ponds or lakes. The increase in oxygen it provides improves the water's quality and clarity, which helps fish, water plants, beneficial bacteria and other aquatic life. This tubing has a recommended CFM flow rate of 0.45-1.1 CFM per linear foot. This air line requires significant pressure from an air pump, typically 1 HP or greater for every 10 to 15 feet of running hose. Click "Add to Cart" Now!

Still sitting in the box, junk, unless you have a very powerful air pump this thing is junk, I don't even think it's an actual Matala product.

Update: my expensive pump died while using this tubing. I spoke with the aerator manufacturer and they said that the tubing lets water back into the air line, which the pump has to work very hard to remove, if it can at all. This results in a significantly hotter running pump and shorter life. Use a diffuser membrane disc instead, it works flawlessly. If you are going to insist on using this tubing, you must add a check valve to prevent water from entering your air line.Original review: I purchased this diffuser tubing and a roll of soaker hose at the same time. They look identical. Like literally identical. Further, my diffuser tubing is making pretty large bubbles, which was exactly what I didn't want. The soaker hose was twice as long and costs 1/8 as much per foot. Start with that instead and save some serious cash.

I used this hose for a home made pond aerator. Works great, but now I have about 18 feet of hose left over. Wish they sold it in 10 foot lengths.

I've used this for about 4 months now. No issues what so ever.**Note, the ID is 1/2" but you may want to use 5/8" barb for a tighter fit.

I ran this along the perimeter of my small fishpond and sunk it by attaching it and weighing down with rocks. Connected to a decent air pump, and it works great. I now have a nice bubble curtain that the gold fish enjoy playing in and the water has been much clearer.
