My partner loves Matcha and I am the first one up in the morning and on coffee and tea duty. Making Matcha has usually consisted of me using a ceramic bowl and a spoon. I have seen the traditional way of making it and decided to order this set.It came in a clear box but was unfortunately damaged. I wouldn't have been able to give this as a gift to someone as a result.I really like the whisk that comes in the set and it makes a much better job of blending the matcha with water before adding to any milk. Cleaning wise I wouldn't risk placing this in the dishwasher so I just wash by hand with a little dish soap.This is a good set at a good price.

This 3 piece set came with only the whisk and whisk holder, but not the tea scoop, which is for the rating of 3. The whisk just over 4” tall. The holder is about 3” tall and 2.5” wide. The whisk looks like it should attach to the holder firm but it does not; the whisk slides back up some the holder but stays on the holder. The quality of the whisk and holder seem good.

After getting this one for Vine review, I got additional sets for my wife. She likes to invite friends over in Sunday afternoon and enjoy tea time together.They all enjoy matcha. With this set, they can enjoy making matcha togther while I go make my own coffee and watch some games with their husbands.I never own any other sets before so I can't really compare it with other brands, but I can tell you this set comes with everything you need. HIghly recommended.

I did not receive the three piece set even though that was what is listed. I was only sent the Whisk and nothing else. I was looking forward to using this product and now I have an incomplete set.

This "100 tines" (百本立) matcha whisk is a great size for general home use. I've been using ones of the same size for years. I included a chart showing the different sizes, the differences are subtle, but it's primarily about the number of tines and the diameter of the handle, or in other words, the size of bamboo from which the whisk is carved. Size is important because you will have to comfortably grip the whisk while working quickly with it. I have some nerve issues in my right wrist, and can work with this whisk size relatively comfortably.I have no complaints about this kit, just some tips for those new to making traditional matcha at home.TIPS:• Soak the whisk in hot water for at least 2 minutes before you first use it. The tines will unfurl, this is normal.• Always rinse and (very) gently clean your whisk after use. You can dry it on the the ceramic whisk stand, which is what I do, but some people believe drying it standing upside down on its handle is better as no force is put on the tines while drying, others believe that the whisk holder helps to shape the tines as they dry. You can try for yourself and see what you prefer, I personally don't think it makes a difference with the outcome of the matcha.• Sifting your matcha power through a fine sieve makes a difference. It is fine to use the back of your bamboo scoop to press the matcha through the sieve, the idea is to break up the clumps before introducing water.• Whisk first with just a little water. I use a brisk zig-zag motion in the tea bowl, once a good layer of foam forms, you may add the remaining water and keep whisking just a little more.• You don't need a fancy tea bowl, any bowl that gives you enough room to whisk is fine. If you feel weird drinking out of a bowl, just pour into a mug or tea cup after whisking.I find DIY matcha so beneficial, not just the effects of the tea, but just the little ceremony of making the tea itself.
