Perfect to save the connectors on my NanoVNA. No apparent insertion loss.

These SMA male to female RF connectors are impossible to install. Why? Because the hex head, the female connector (threads inside the barrel) are loose over the male end. You can't turn the threaded end into your radio antenna connector/port.I'm returning my order and will find correct SMA connectors elsewhere

I bought these to protect the sma jacks on my nanoVNA. Frequent screwing and unscrewing eventually wears out the threads on the jacks.

The coax connectors on my VNA are now protected against breaking with the addition of these adapters. Any wear will now be applied to these adapters, which are easy to replace as compared to the connectors on the VNA. SMA connectors are prone to damage from constant connecting.

These are just what I needed to keep from wearing-out the SMA ports on the RF Explorer. Should work for most any SMA-based test port. I do not have a way to characterize their frequency performance beyond 6GHz.

So why would you want one of these. I've used them when I wanted to modify a connection that is recessed into the case - it's a lot easier to get a connector in there when you don't have the entire case in the way. But the major one is probably to extend service life. SMA connectors are only rated for a couple hundred cycles, so if you are going to connect or disconnect a lot of times cycling a disposable part rather than the one in the body of your device could be pretty useful. This particular connector (Maximoral) even has a swivel that limits how hard you can twist which presumably reduces the odds of breaking something even further.

I got these to put on the ports of my VNA so they could absorb the wear and tear of constant attaching calibration connectors and other devices. If something happens to the connector on this I can just replace it rather than having a worn-out connector soldered to the VNA. They work fine. Ordered again for another device. No problems with them.
