These tires are sticky and grab the dirt like a cat pursuing its prey. Whether you want confidence on railing your PR and sucking less or chasing a KOM and not caring about the rock garden and inserts these are the move. I've tried assegai tires and DHF's I found the dhf rolls a little faster and is better if you ride aggressive.

I've got a 1994 Stumpjumper fsr. When it was new it was pretty much the bomb. Not so much anymore. The geometry is not good after riding modern bikes. But I like to take this out when I want to get a great workout on some fire roads but won't be hitting the jump line because of weather / trail conditions. Replaced a super old Michelin tire that was 2.1 wide. Again, pretty great back in the mid 90's. But my new tires help this pathetic old bike feel a lot less pathetic.

Fantastic price for a huge upgrade - I ride in Scotland over roots and rocks, my Maxxis Ardent front tire was all over the place! Really looking forward to using the Max Grip Minion over the same terrain - would like to support LBS but this is nearly half the price! The tire went on tubeless in about ten minutes - no levers required - with an air compressor - very little sealant squish when it was added after bead up. Really pleased with it.

Love this tire for all types of trails. The triple compound is totally worth the extra couple bucks. I am way more confident in turns with these over the harder compound version. And all the Maxxis tubeless tires i've run set up tubeless without a hitch with tubeless wheels.

I am riding the extra grippy version of this tire, and it is awesome! I previously rode with a Schwalbe Nobby Nic on the front, and I thought it was pretty good. However, it was not durable enough and I ended up tearing it up really badly. I ride Reynolds Blacklabel Enduro wheels, and they are extremely stiff. With the Schwalbe tires, those are downright abusive wheels. With this Minion DHF on the front and an Aggressor on the back, my bike feels completely different. It's a bit heavier now, but the ride quality is so much better I'll probably never leave Maxxis again so long as I ride these wheels. These tires are also very durable, and they are wearing slower than I had expected them to.

The classic gets better. All the DHF goodness with a little extra volume and a change in shape. Rode these on 30mm internal width rims and love them. My only slight gripe is that I'd like to see a little stiffer sidewall than the plain EXO for a tire this big, and that wish was granted in the Double Down version, but if you're a lighter rider, not running low psi, or don't hit the rock gardens too often then this one is probably great. at 240lb in full gear and racing enduro, the DD is the better choice for me. But that doesn't take away from the fact that this tire kicks a**.

I have always heard that this is probably the best all around trail tire on the planet and it did not disappoint. Grip and more grip, but the precise control is most impressive. it allows you to pick the line less traveled and it makes all the difference in the world. The only negative is weight, it is not the lightest tire, but a DH tire values grip over weight. One problem with ordering this item on Amazon is that it is hard to determine exactly what tire you are getting prior to receiving it. Maxxis makes many versions of this tire at various weights & features. Knowing exact tire weight in grams would allow customers to cross reference that info with maxxis website. I received the 3C wire bead DH casing tire with side wall protection. Still a great tire!

Best dh hard pack freeride tire ever enough said I used them for 5 years and won't switch till they discontinued.I used the 1ply in the front and a 2ply high roller in the rear switching to the 2 ply now but never had a issue with the 1 ply and I ride alot of rocky trails and freeride a ton.Hear in seattle these tires are king Handel like there on rails. When it's a bit dusty they give enough to warn you so you dont eat the dirt. I have crashed on them on Sandy rocks but I was mashing on the line and maybe that's my bad. lap a maxxis high roller 2 or 1 and on the rear and you a world cup pro! Maxxis your got a a fan for life.Only issue was the this tire was not a 2ply it's the 1ply. I ordered not aware. I will deal with green cannon outfitters again there costumer service was great! Small issue that was fixed

This tire is no joke. I can't imagine the situation where I get a flat with this tire. It's tread is beefy as all hell. The one bad thing though, is the width is a bit off, it looks more like the 2.35s I just took off. If you're looking for a true 2.5 width, I would order the 2.7. I will on my next purchase of this same tire. Oh and be ready for a SOB of a tire install, took me two people cuz of its stiffness.
