About this item

  • MAXXIS MINION DHF: With a tread design that deftly balances rolling speed with braking and cornering traction, it’s no wonder that the Minion DHF is one of the most imitated tires in mountain biking.
  • 3C MAXXTERRA: An intermediate triple compound configuration used across our mountain tire line. The 3C MaxxTerra compound offers more traction than 3C MaxxSpeed, yet provides better treadwear and less rolling resistance than MaxxGrip, which makes it ideal for trail riding in all conditions.
  • EXO+: Builds on our EXO technology with the addition of a small butyl insert around the bead. EXO+ is ideal for trail riding in moderately rocky and rooty terrain, and is also suitable for lighter weight e-bikes.
  • E25: Tires with an E25 rating are suitable for light duty e-bikes with assistance up to a maximum of 16.1 MPH.
  • WIDE TRAIL: Optimizes the tire’s tread layout and profile to match today’s modern, wider rims. Maxxis offers WT tires for everything from XC to gravity applications. A 30mm internal width rim is ideal for most applications, but WT tires can be used on rims ranging from 19mm to 35mm internal.
  • QUALITY GUARANTEE: 1-Year Manufacturer's Warranty

With a tread design that deftly balances rolling speed with braking and cornering traction, it’s no wonder that the Minion DHF is one of the most imitated tires in mountain biking. / The gold standard of gravity focused tread; also optimal for long-travel enduro e-bikes / Intended for front wheel use, E50 rated

Replaced front and rear (2016ish schwalbe nobby nic and hans dampf) with DHR/DHR II dual compound and couldn’t be happier. Multiple crashes due to loss of front/rear traction prompted the purchase. PR’ed on my regular route first time out with them. No issues with rolling resistance or traction across the spectrum (hard pack included). Feels like a new bike. Wish I would have made the switch a year ago.

Better name for it should have been “Chunky Monkey”. This is one beefy tire with lots of grip, corners well and clears mud fast. Only got a couple rides into this tire but it definetly has more grip and is more sure footed then my previous High Roller II’s which are still a great tire. But I’m most impressed on how well it sheds and clears mud out of thread knobs. Even in heavy mud it’s rolling clean within a few rolls on clean trail dirt.

Great tire! The tread pattern is super aggressive!! As my front tire, I pick a line going uphill and it literally 'PULLS' me on that line. Duh, sounds obvious, but MTBers will understand me. When you get tired and twist your handlebars while going uphill to keep balance, most tires are forgiving and you can balance out. These DHFs claw into the terrain and grab that line! It sure makes me balance better and keep my bars level while going up.But where this tire earns its keep is on the downhill. Super grippy and keeps you on your line. You will feel more confidence descending, twisting through switchbacks and going over the rocky technical stuff.I've put 200 miles on this tire and the tread is still amazing. I'll have to replace my rear DHR soon, but this DHF should last me a few more months!

Had a Minion DHR II 2.3 on the front of my bike before. Decided to try this wide version of the DHF on the front and move the DHR II to the rear to replace that balding DHR II. Result is FAR better cornering confidence, even on pavement. Rolling resistance is actually lessened now as with the wider tire and angled tread pattern I can run higher pressure in the front and still feel vast improvements over the DHR in turns.
