Needed to replace old thermostat. Mazda dealer was going to charge exorbitant amount. Found this by chance. Genuine Mazda brand at great deal. Works well. Recommend to buy!

Perfect fitment for the gen 2, had an aftermarket one on my speed and it recently began leaking so I figured why not get a OEM part for a few more dollars. With the aftermarket my coolant temps stayed around 198-205 with regular driving, with this OEM part now my temps actually stay around the 180s so I would say this is the the perfect operating temps for this car is. Flushed the coolant and changed this part and followed the procedure to make sure no air was in the system and now my cooling numbers are perfect. If you have a gen 2 this is perfect for you, I imagine that the gen 1 will also have the same fitment as well.

The large hose port is short, but the real problem is the angle of the large hose port. Because of the angle, the hose presses tight against the alternator when installed. The hose did not, and should not press against the alternator.

A really good quality thermostat. Works a treat on my 2006 2.0 MX5 which is now staying nice and warm. Although appears to be OEM quality Not 100% sure as made in Korea and not in a Mazda box see pics. I’d recommend and give 5 stars, hoping this part lasts a long time.Note for the NC mx5 there are 2 different thermostat housing lengths depending on your VIN. Please check you are getting the right one.

Fitted this up to my Mazda 6 MPS a few days ago, works perfectly. Car now comes up to temperature correctly and says there, just in time for the cold spell!Once unpacked, the part was in a yellow bag rather than a Mazda box but the part itself does display the correct markings including a FoMoCo logo on the side. This thermostat is the updated version with the thicker metal inserts for the bolt holes.Took a while to arrive from the States (I think..) so you should bear that in mind if you need it urgently, however it was delivered with no import tax as you'd expect from Amazon.

Mazda CX-7 AWD 2007 Perfect fit and functionality. My issues with this vehicle’s thermostat began when the OEM was opening at too low temperatures: in summer was not an issue, but at cooler temperatures on highway or road just releasing the gas pedal and let the vehicle slow down would result in sub recommended temperatures, CEL on and danger of metal bending.Where I live Mazda sells this for something like $90.00 (USD), which I thought to be too expensive… so I made the mistake of going for the Autozone one, $18 bucks…The result was terrible: instead of Mazda’s recommendation of opening/closing at around 78-82 deg celsius the thing opened at 96-99 deg… resulting in 104+ degrees in freezing winter and 110 deg (once) at mid hot summer while on traffic and a road climb. All within the maximum specs of the engine, but the AC was crippled in its performance and sometimes the computer disconnected the compressor because the coolant was too hot.Put this one and all is back to stock specs: temperatures are exactly as they were when the vehicle was new… and I saved a little cash, but not the effort.Note: I used the OBD2 Bluetooth dongle to monitor the system… the high/low reading is quite eloquent… I really recommend this as the temperature gauge doesn’t move once it reach certain temperature.Cheers!

Only been on the car for a couple of weeks but it fixed my P0126 error code. Note there are 2 different thermostats on the 2006 Mazda MX-5. This one has short hose mounts and the other has longer mounts. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out which one my car had and the easiest way was to just go out and look under the hood. Make a mental note as to how close the end of the hose is to the engine block. If the hoses are close, you need this thermostat. I think you could use the longer thermostat but you would need to cut your hoses.
