If you're still rocking an older Tivo Bolt and need an inexpensive replacement HDD because the HDD in your Tivo died, this will work. Sadly it is not as large as the largest drive available in Bolts from the factory, but it will at least get your Tivo up and running again.

My Channel Master CM-7500TB1 hard drive croaked some time ago. Watched a YouTube tutorial on how to change the hard drive, and decided it was something I could do, maybe.Purchased this replacement on AMAZON. Took only a few minutes plus a small phillips screwdriver to install. When I plugged in the DVR, it walked me through the format procedure.One and a half years later, it is still going strong, and I have double the memory.

I was searching for a larger HD for the TIVO Bolt. I read about cmr vs smr if I am remembering the terms correctly. I read in reviews that it worked for 2 people in the Tivo Bolt. So I thought I would take a chance. After ordering I had read that it was the type of CMR vs SMR that wouldn't work with Tivo. Let me say, that following the Weaknees Video available on YouTube, it was so easy. I had already years ago, put a 3 TB in the other Tivo Bolt, so new what to expect. This drive said in the paperwork that it is not formatted and to use a PC to format.... But I just put it in, and turned on the Bolt, and followed the prompts, and it is working very well. Slick as could be. Just 2 days now, and will follow up if I can, or needed. But it works

I needed to replace my 3 year old Seagate drive because I started to get pixilation issues on my recordings. (I was initially miffed about what I consider to be a poor service life out of the Seagate video drive, but it turns out the piliation issues had nothing to do with the drive.) Good luck in finding an OEM replacement for this 9.5mm tall Seagate drive! The price was right for this Toshiba drive, so I decided to give this a go. The Tivo Edge happily accepted it. It's a bit surprising to me, as I hear chatter about how TiVo's require drives that use CMR (conventional magnetic recording) drives, and as a result, they will not accept SMR (shingled magnetic recording) drives. But it accepted this SMR drive. Also, this is not rated as a surveillance drive, so time will tell how long it will hold up. Finally, MaxData drives have a rap for being cheap drives. I don't know if that's trash talk, or if it's based in fact. Time will tell, but at that price, I'll just replace the drive again if it starts to give me issues.

My bf had a PS4 Pro that had something dropped on it. It worked but of you turned it on you had to wait 20 minutes to a half an hour to turn back on. When he got his PS5 and gave it to me, I gave my PS4 to our girls, I didn't want to deal with that so I bought this drive. It gave more storage and fixed the issue. It works great, was easy to install and we have no issues with it.

I have a Tivo Bolt that I purchased in 2015. Lately it was giving a periodic error message "Invalid Format". The hard drive was dying. I have used Tivo boxes for many years and I love them over a cable box or DVR. The Bolt can handle 4K resolution and I have a 4K TV.I refuse to rent equipment from the cable company. You pay for years and years and never own the equipment. My Bolt is paid for with a lifetime subscription. I plan to get my money's worth and more from the box.I saw a few YouTube videos on how to change the hard drive on a Tivo Bolt and they stated that this drive would work and would fit inside the box. It totally works and the installation was easy. The only downside is that there is no way to transfer your recordings from the old hard drive to the new one.Best of all I was able to increase the storage from 1 GB to 2 GB. Hopefully I will get many more years of service from the Tivo Bolt. Once this Tivo dies I am probably done with cable and I will consider streaming options.
