Brief Description
- This is a quartz timer,mechanical hour meter,it only has the function of accumulating the total working time.
- It needs to connect an external power supply,voltage range is DC12V-36V,max voltage is 40V.
- Its timing mechanism contains a quartz oscillator which provides a high degree of accuracy.
- It can be used for tracking time on machinery such as boats, cars, trucks, tractors,compressors,golf carts or any other device where time is used to determine oil change intervals, service requirements or where there is a need to record hours operated.
Hour Meter Function
- It only record the total running hours.
- The timing range is 0.0-9999.9H.
- The black color digit in white background,every 6 minutes rolls 1. When it rolls to 9 and after next 6 minutes,the hour meter will show 0001.0(Which means it has worked 1 hour)
- The total running hours can not be reset manually,only when it reaches to 9999.9H,and after 6 minutes,it will roll to 0000.0.
- When the hour meter is counting,it can make a regular clicking sound,and the independent small window on the right will alternately jump between black and white symbols.
Hour Meter Installation
Cut the Mount Hole
- The installation method of this hour meter is embedded,need to cut a mount hole of the machine firstly.
- The panel cut-out size is 37.5mmx24.5mm.
- The distance between the two installation holes is 45mm.
- The thickness of the panel must be at least 2mm,otherwise it will cause loosening.
Insert the Hour Meter
- Insert the gasket into the hour meter,which can effectively prevent water from seeping into the machine.
- Insert the hour meter into the panel hole.
- Thread the two mounting holes with screws from the front and secure with nuts from the back.(screws and nuts are not included in the package)
- Finally, secure the hour meter from the rear with the mounting bracket.
Hour Meter Connection
- The hour meter has two pins,one is positive +,another one is negative -,you can view the marks above the pins.
- You have to connect the positive + pin to the external power +,connect the negative - pin to the external power -.
- Please make sure the external power is in the range of DC12-36V.The maximum voltage can not exceed 40V.Otherwise it will be burnt.
Not Waterproof
- The surface of the hour meter is not completely sealed,water can seep from the surface into the inside of the hour meter,causing it to break.
- Please do not use it underwater or fully exposed to rain.You can't even rinse it directly with a water gun.
- The part of the pins is completely sealed.

I got this for my John Deere riding mower because I like to follow their maintenance schedule faithfully, but "guessing" how many hours of operation was more hit-and-miss than accurate. Now I can tell at a glance when it is time for routine maintenance. This meter is very easy to install and the directions were easy to understand, as you only need to connect two wires - one to a live wire with key on and the other to a ground. Using the foam backing as a template, I cut out the required hole in my plastic dash and easily inserted the gauge. If fits snugly and looks like an OEM gauge! If you are like me and plan to keep your equipment for many years to come, then you need an hour meter like this one to keep up with required maintenance.
