The shop material is made of plastic, not the most sturdy but sufficient for a good time. The size is just right, it's big enough for an all around pretend experience while at the same time not taking up too much room. The shopping cart fits underneath in the backside out of the way.My 3 and 5 year olds have had an absolute blast playing with this set. Their favorite part is scanning items and using the debit card machine to pay. The scanner and debit card machine both make realistic sounds. My 3 year old enjoys scanning items then looking over to pretend to make sure items are ringing up correctly.This set comes with 47 items, a combination of fruit, vegetables, can items, money, coins and normal staple items.

My grand babies love this toy. They go shopping, then they put there groceries away. Then they cook a meal in their kitchen and we sit around the table and eat together. Then they make Nana wash all the dishes. They really love their grocery store.
