The pad arrived in a new state, but like so many cajon and cajon-related products, the snare was faulty. In this case, the snare was installed in a way that made a "ping" sound when striking it. Highly disappointing. It was returned.

Sounds like a box because that's what it is. Not really enough body to deliver a worthwhile sound, but it's handy to have around if you just want to get the feel of drumming without actual gear or busting up your hands on an engine block.

Bought this as a part of my acoustic gig setup for playing restaurants and other low volume gigs. Really like this product as it did exactly what I wanted. Deducted one star as Velcro strap could stand to be just a tad bit longer (small gripe). Paired this with a box cajon that I'm using for a bass drum and am quite pleased.

Bought this and the jingles pad. Very neat. No, they are not much on volume (the snare is better), but easy to play and quite versatile. I am having fun using them with bongos. Fast shipping and arrived in great shape.

I use this with a stick imitating a rim click sound while playing with a brush on the cajon

One would think this would be like any other drum pad where you play on a surface that muffles the sound of your playing. It does not at all. It is quite loud and obnoxious. I am returning this knee "pad" very soon.
