I'm a pastor of a traditional Protestant church that sings most hymns accompanied by an organ, but uses piano, guitar, and other instruments from time to time. For us a drum set would be too overpowering. I have used a djembe, bongos, shakers, and tambourines to accompany worship music from time to time, but found each had a very specific and limited range and use. A church member volunteered to purchase a cajon for the church if I would pick one out. I found this listed on Amazon, ordered it, and have been happy with it. It has been successfully used in worship by 1) myself, a guitarist, 2) a drummer in the local high school marching band, and 3) by an untrained novice who used it to simply add a simple 1-2-3-4 beat to a song.

Got this for my husband, he is not a percussionist, just someone who enjoys messing around making music. This is a nice size for him (he’s 6’0”) and very easy to use. Great starter instrument!

Well designed bass port results in a great sound! Good overall construction quality as well. I would see nothing to be desired by spending any more on a different Cajon.

This is a beautiful mahogany Cajon at a ridiculously low price. Full size, full sound, adjustable strings for THAT sound. And beautiful to look at. Everyone else uses Birch, that's great. Mahogany has it's own sound. This cajon delivers everything the expensive cousins do, at half the price.

Absolutely beautiful wood. Well constructed so far. Pretty good sound, snares seem a little dull, could be a little livelier. But I think it is an absolutely excellent starter Cajon.

We just learned about this instrument earlier this year. My husband played one at church and then wanted one for himself. Not knowing anything about this instrument, I was unsure what I should research. I ultimately bought this one as a gift for my husband. He loves it! It is a beautiful color and the perfect size for an adult to use. The sound is wonderful and he takes this one to church now instead of using the one that is there. I would recommend this instrument.

That bass port makes this cajon’s bass sound especially exquisite. I didn’t expect that level of quality to come from a cajon that is in this price range.Furthermore, the dark satin makes this cajon stand out from other cajons. Fits in standard size cajon bag.If you consider the price of another cajon (60-100) without that bass port (detachable bass port is 30+bucks alone), this cajon is very competitively priced because the bass port is literally built into the cajon (part of the whole).

In theory, this is a great drum. Sounds decent, looks ok....except one corner was damaged right from the box, with a dent and a large chip in one corner. Attempts to contact the company have been met with silence.
