I spent nearly 30 years as an avid outdoor adventurer, and I remember some of the early inline filter bottles and how hard they were to drink from. So I was a bit skeptical of this one, but I figured I'd try it out, and I'm glad I did. This bottle does make a noticeable difference in the taste of my tap water, and just as importantly, the flow rate is sufficient that it's easy to drink from it. My old water bottle barely produced a trickle no matter how hard I squeezed it or sucked on the spout. This one flows quite nicely, and clearly does a good job of filtering out whatever it is in my tap water that makes it taste a little off. I've drunk water directly from a little glacial stream on Mount Rainier, so I know what good water tastes like. It just tastes clean, and it leaves absolutely no lingering taste or aroma in your mouth. The water from this bottle tastes reminiscent of that. The bottle itself looks nice and it's made of tritan, the same thing Nalgene's are made of, so it's very durable. And the roughly 1-liter capacity is perfect for an hour or two of good hiking. Overall, I'm very happy to see that inline filter bottles have gotten a lot better. About 18 years ago, I paid nearly $75 for one. Now you can get a much better one for less than half that. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this and similar products in the years to come. I wish I had had this when I was younger and still hitting the mountains every weekend, but I'm glad I found it now.

When at first you don't succeed, try, try again... The first one I ordered was lost in transit. However, the second one arrived on time and as scheduled. Putting everything together was easy and intuitive. Oddly enough, the filtered water tasted just as good or better than my current water filter. I would have preferred that the bottle was made of a material to preserve coldness, but for the price, this is a lovely addition to my bedside and for the gym. I definitely would purchase again.

After going through a tornado in 2024, and with all of the uncertainty in the world these days, I decided that I needed to build an emergency kit or go-bag, possibly both. Water was the only utility not knocked out by the tornado, but I still see the value of having a way to filter water, if for no other reason than cutting down on the chlorine taste in the local water. I filter all of my drinking water with a brand name pitcher, but if my house had taken a direct hit from the tornado, I doubt that pitcher would have survived. So, this water bottle with filter, plus a spare filter, will live in my emergency kit that I keep in my closet/fraidy-hole. I can verify that, to this point, it hasn't leaked, and I turned that thing upside down and shook it, vigorously. No leaks. If I hadn't screwed the lid down tight, it might have leaked some, because there's a very small air hole in the lid. That's how you're able to get water out of the spout. Just remember to snug that up and you should be golden. One thing that you should keep in mind, if you were to take it camping or something, is don't let it freeze while the filter is wet. You'd need to keep the bottle in your sleeping bag with you or keep it somewhat near a heat source to keep the filter working correctly. I think this product would be good for most applications, from emergency preparedness, to camping, to just improving the taste of tap water.

You have to temper your expectations -- this is NOT an end-all-be-all for 100% safe water from any water source. It will remove a lot, but far from every nasty thing that can be found in highly suspect water sources. There are filtration solutions that will remove virtually everything, but of course there's a price trade-off for those. If I was using it from a FLOWING natural water source, I'd probably still pre-treat the water, and then filter the treated water via this bottle. I would likely completely forgo using this in a murky, stagnant water source. But my real use for this will be to filter tap water in public places. I bring a 64-oz "jug" of filtered water with me every day, but I've often gone through it by around late-lunch time, which leaves hours of the workday left without my filtered water -- and I absolutely cannot stand the thought of drinking tap water (what's "safe levels" of this-and-that to them, is totally unsafe as far as I'm concerned). So this will be more than suitable to bring tap water up to an acceptable standard.
