I had to do a ton of research to figure out that this is the harness you need for a 2005 Solara Convertible with the JBL Amp. You will need to do some work to use this harness, as it's really only meant for the speaker wires and not the batt/acc/ground/etc. If you are willing to do some cutting into the original radio harness, you can preserve the dimmer function as well.LONG HARNESS: You only need a couple feet of the long harness, so pull the old harness out of the car and cut this one about a foot longer than the old one so you dont have any issues. You will only be using the gray/white/purple/green (I guess you could use pre-outs to get a sub signal through here but I didnt bother). Hook these eight wires into your new stereo harness.SHORT HARNESS: The short harness is useless; it's a female connector and you need to connect to the female connector underneath the HVAC. Instead, I advise you to take apart your old harness and use that to retain the factory battery/dimmer/ground/antenna/accessory/steering wheel controls. See my drawing.

This item was factory sealed in packaging but the description is incorrect. It’s built for a Sienna and not a Sequoia. Do your research.

Works great on 04 Tundra Double Cab with JBL sound system and amplifier behind rear seat on driver side. Unplug amp wire and plug in new harness.. I only used the 8 speaker wires and ended up cutting the remaining wires so it was easier to run to the radio location. I took the time to tape up the wires .... removed sill plates on front and rear doors. Removed the drivers kick panel and route wires. Over all it was pretty easy..Just took a little time to do it right.Just connect white gray purple and green to corresponding wires on radio and it was easy... There is another connector that is smaller that goes behind the radio for your Red Acc hot ...Yellow const hot...Black for ground..However..I tried the other harness with the rca connectors ..I think it was 70 8113 to keep the amp... but it did not work even tho I did have a new radio with 4 ch rca outputs.. so that why I used this harness and just bypassed the amp altogether... Glad I did...New kenwood 9708s sounds aamazing. Seriously Amazing

Even though Amazon said it would not fit, the description said it would. Need to remove the back cab panel and remove the cable DINs plugged into the amp on the driver’s side. The Metra DIN plugs into the larger DIN previously plugged into the amp; it is a tight fit, but will plug in. I removed the amp.The hard part is routing the bundle of wires to the front of the cab, just remove the plastic panels and route the wires next to the existing cable, around the steering wheel and then to the radio area. They use the standard wire coloring, so connect the gray, white, green and violet to the corresponding radio wires (and the corresponding black striped wires).Radio sounds great!

This kit fits a bunch of different vehicles, and since some amps are in different locations...(my car, 2004 Solara is behind glove box) that's why there's so much extra wire. The bigger connector in the first pic plugs into a connector you unplug from the amp - bypassing it for clearer sound supposedly. All this 'big' harness does is run the vehicle's speaker wires directly to the stereo. I suspect the connector is made in china because I had to slightly grind off two corner edges of the Toyota male end to fit in the Metra female end. You could use a file, sandpaper, whatever. Hence the 2 star rating. After that just run the wires up into the stereo cavity, all the colours matched and are labelled. For a '04-ish Solara that had the JBL factory deck, you won't use any of the wires with coloured stripes, they can be cut out after. (see pic #2) I only needed about 3' of the 8 main wires. This kit also contains the smaller, 70-8113 plug which is just for powers, ground, and power antenna. There is no wire in this kit that will connect to the orange illumination wire coming off your deck, but in my experience the dimmer switch in your car never works on aftermarket stereos anyway. You'll need 11 red butt connectors for this installation, 12 if you have a sub, for the remote wire.My Pioneer double din stereo sounds fantastic without the amp, lots of volume and clear.

Works great and easy to install. Fit perfect into 2006 Toyota sequoia with factory jbl amp. I had torn speakers so replaced the fronts and rears along with an aftermarket head unit. I originally used a plug that utilized the factory amp. The sound was distorted. Installed this and now it's great. Just unplug the amp connector and snap it into the metra plug. Route the wiring and connect the corresponding wires into the radio harness. The other Metra connector plugs into a plug near the radio and splice into the radio harness. The only thing the harness did not have is the orange wire for the dimmer light but I never connect that on my radios.

This worked wonderfully to bypass the factory JBL (crappy sub 200w) amp in my 2005 Toyota Matrix w/ 7 Speaker JBL System. This could be easily be run up to the dash to be used with an aftermarket deck. However, I ran it to a 5 channel rockford fosgate amp in the trunk. I connect this harness from the original factory amp harness and ran the harness to the rear of the car. Connected up power, remote turn-on, RCA cables and viola! Much better sound!Pros:Good quality wires (copper inside, decent gauge)Nice long wires, can literally reach anywhere in the carPre stipped wire leads make connecting easy.Cons:Included wiring diagram is confusing, but I figured it you
