Used two of them, both dull after the first hole through light gauge steel stud. Possibly the thinnest metal you would ever drill. Do not buy. I will be returning them as soon as I’m done writing this review. If you only need one hole, they’re fine I guess but I need tools that last.

Haven’t use them much but work as they should on plastic and light metal .

These are unbelievably low quality. The numbers are illegibly printed. I tried to use these to open a 20mm hole to 24mm in plywood and gave up after an hour.It was laughable.Very dull. Possibly used for someone’s project and returned.

This product is very handy when sizing the right hole however the sharpness to drill metal holes could be better

Was attempting to drill out holes bigger in SUV frame to install a Hitch. This bit wore out very fast and barely got the job done. I had to use so much pressure to just widen 6 holes 1/2" bigger than they were my arms hurt for days. This bit may be for sheet metal but it needs to be very thin in my opinion. It did not work very well at all on a steel frame. I did have a different and smaller step bit that cut through that steel frame like butter. So all I can say is if you need it for drilling holes in Steel frames this is NOT the bit for you. Open your wallet and buy a decent one.I think If I needed it for any other drilling it would have been ok to use. I did use it on a sheet of aluminum and it worked just fine.

This is about as simple as it gets for a step drill. I used it it drill a 3/4” hole in a stainless steel turkey fryer. I purchased a DERNORD Stainless Steel Ball Valve - 1/2 Inch from amazon for the project. Once the 3/4” hole was drilled I used a rat tail file to open it up to approximately 13/16”. Applying light pressure after drilling a 1/4” pilot hole; step drill worked as advertised.

I occasionally could have used one of these over the years as a contractor, but just got by using increasing sizes of drill bits. I selected this one over similar available step bits because it said it could cut through stainless steel, quite a difficult task. I used it yesterday to drill an extra faucet hole through a new stainless steel sink. It cut through fast as if it were cutting plastic. This is a good item, not foreign junk that only looks decent before you use it.

I like that I can use this on my 12v bosch small driver drill with 1/4" hex chuck key or on my 18v Makita. They are sharp and make filling effortless.

These fit into my 1/4 speed chuck and just make life convenient. I work in HVAC and my normal drill is usually out in my truck or in another bag, but I always have my impact driver. I can just pop one of these into my impact and quickly drill a hole with these uni-bits. Super inexpensive and they seem to last as long as the super expensive ones at the big box stores.
