Very nice map, all in English (despite the product photo, which shows a map with labels in French), quite large, lamination is good quality, good price compared to others.

As someone who used to travel with a paper map (read: "old person"!), I have always loved Michelin maps. I already have one of their world maps, however it's from the 90's, so many of the borders and countries have changed. :-) Therefore, I was excited to see that there are still good-old-fashioned Michelin maps, and I ordered this one, with no expectations, to put on my wall so I can stare longingly at countries I am currently unable to travel to due to Covid-19. :-( In short, this map blew my mind! It is the standard, huuuuuuuge size of a Michelin map, and is beautifully laminated. I can't get over how nice it is, and for only $20. I would be happy with this if I had spent two or three times as much. Amazing! Wish I would have bought it a long time ago, as it's already bringing me much joy! Thank you, Michelin!!!!

Great quality and it's large enough that with a magnifying glass you can see the little fat kid from tiny North Korea rolling out his missiles and acting tough. The map was shipped in a sturdy container and it rolled out easily for mounting on my office wall. The coating is thick enough to make the map sturdy and easy to keep clean. If it wasn't for Putin continually redrawing the borders of Russia and for Israel constantly increasing the amount of land they are grabbing in Palestine, the map would still be up to date.

I use to have a version of this map in the 90s and recently purchased it for decoration/educational purposes.PRO- Large Size and very vibrant colors- Nice lamented surface protects the map- Clear labeling in easy read fonts- Country flags have the added additional informations- The US States are indicated- Pined with pushpin and has stayed upCON- Large Size means it'll sag down a little if you secure it using only pushpinsOverall very happy and would recommend!

I was hesitant to buy this since I saw two Jan.'13 and one Dec.'12 reviews that each said this map is not laminated. Well, I don't know why those reviews are associated with this map. If you look at the product name right above each of those reviews, you'll see that each of those pertained to map 12701, and this is map 13701. So, while I was pretty confident due to the map number difference I noticed, I was relieved when I opened the package and found that the lamination was there and just fine. Now, as to the map itself ... one thing I look for in a world map is that it have some approach for de-emphasizing the spreading out that occurs in 2-dimensional world maps toward the poles. You've seen maps where Alaska, Canada, Greenland, and Russia each look like they're being presented via a carnival mirror. That's something that a globe, in all its spherical wonderfulness, handles perfectly well, and it's a challenge to deal with on a 2D basis. Most world maps just give in and bloat those regions near the poles. This map? Well, it makes some effort. Those regions are expanded, but the presentation does as good a job as might reasonably be done for a 2D map that still presents the geography on a continual basis (rather than segregating the far north and far south regions into separate areas). And, while the arctic regions are huge on the main map, separate views of those shown in the map's lower left rectify that.Country borders are clear due to a decent use of colors, although it's a bit too pastel. Use of some more primary colors would help make boundaries more distinct. Large-ish cities are represented by white dots, and world capitals are rep'd by black dots, a nice touch. So too is a presentation of time zones in the map's lower right. The map's top and bottom show all, or I guess all (as of 2010) of the country flags. A good surprise to me was that South Sudan (new in 2011) is shown as a separate country on the map with it's own flag. Also shown with each country flag is the country's 2010 population, it's area (in sq. miles and sq. km), and it's grid location on the map. Here too the countries' names are shown three ways: English, German, and local. And a colored dot indicates the country's land mass ... sort of. Using those dots, it segregates Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and ... well, the Americas. Yup, countries in N. America and S. America are each shown with the same red dot. I don't think I'm colorblind ... perhaps they used a reddish orange for one and an orange-ish red for the other, but they look the same to me, and I'm pretty sure they are identical. But this shortcoming (in the map, not in me) is quite minor. All in all, this is a fine map, and a HUGE map. Measure where you intend to put this before you buy it.

It's a great quality laminated map with extras at top and bottom margins. We put it up in my 5year old son's room and he enjoys reading and learning from it. From a parents point of view, I am not a pro in maps but I am a bit surprised by proportions, I guess, I haven't seen a good map in a while. All the extras are awesome, a bit too much of information for my pre-schooler but he already improved his knowledge of different countries' flags so I think it's awesome to have so much room to grow.I like the laminate, it will make it easy to trace our travels and then dry-erase the traces as needed and it's a great protection from young kids' hands. The map spent some time in a closet before being hang and there is no damage from it at all thanks to laminate.Bottom line, it's a great map!

This is by far the best priced map I've seen on the market, AND it is a phenomenal quality map. The map has unique features such as latitude and longitude markings on the side, fine detail of topography, countries & cities marked with text - and color separated, a time zone section showing the IDL, as well as all the flags of the countries of the world. This map is large and should be considered when buying that you have a wall large enough to display it. The map also comes laminated, with about 1/2" border of laminate around the edge, which is great for mounting it on the wall with a staple gun. I bought this map for my son about 10 years ago, which hangs on his wall. A friend of mine thought it was the best she'd ever seen as well, so I helped her find it on Amazon so she could get one for her family. She had been looking all over the internet for a good quality map, but most of them were smaller, and about double the price of this one. This is the best map, at the best price.[2014 update: an Amazon customer just wrote me to let me know the map no longer has the ½" extra laminate around the edge].
