This is my second pair of Meier running shorts. They're extremely light weight, with great freedom of movement and moisture wicking qualities. I also like these because they don't have an inner liner (I am not a fan because most don't offer adequate support). I prefer shorts like this because I can wear an athletic supporter instead. The zipper pockets are nice, but I usually wear a hydration vest or waist belt to hold my phone, keys, gels...

I didn't want jammers bathing suits, & I didn't want the tiny Speedo's. This is the perfect solution. Nice lightweight material, no open pockets that would turn this into a drag training bathing suit, nice liner. Well made, nice colors (I bought a second one).

I wear shorts like these under my pants like we did in the infantry. Not to bulky to be worn as undergarment and a great workout short. Yoga, lifting, i even swim in these. I’ve not been able to run for years but these would be good running shorts for short-mid distance. I wouldn’t run over a half marathon in these opting for a technical running short for those distances. A little more expensive than the others i bought. I am in search of a replacement softer infantry shorts, black knit with liner, don’t make them anymore

I purchased these for my 15 year old son who runs cross country and puts in a lot of miles during the year. We have 4 boys that run XC and it seems the natural progression is to start at 7 inch shorts, then go to 5 inch shorts before getting the courage to wear the 3 inch shorts. Once they make it to 3 inch they don't seem to go back. They find them to be the most comfortable.I also like the bright neon yellow color for when they're running on roads as it makes them more visible to drivers. We will be purchasing more of these shorts and have already bought them in blue for his older brother.

Needed quick-dry shorts for kayaking. Been using whatever came up on a search for "quick-dry shorts". I expected the shorts to get dry enough to drive the car by the time I got everything back and loaded into the car. Not even close. Must find a place to change to dry pants, wring out the shorts, and the shorts still leave a big puddle on the floor of the car. Eventually, I realized that huge baggy knee-length shorts just don't work for this. So, searched again, found 3-inch shorts with quick-dry polyester spandex material. This is great for kayaking. I can wade deep and stay dry. If dunked, there's so much less material to get wet. I can wear these shorts under my normal pants. If still wet, that wetness wicks into my full-size pants and leaves just a little dampness that can dry while driving the car. This Meir is my 3rd 3-inch shorts. All three were purchased for kayaking. All are similar, not hugely different. 1st purchase (not Mier) was size M, ok but no waist drawstring so shorts can slip during a kayak re-entry scramble. 2nd purchase (not Mier) was also size M, has drawstring and snug waist, but below the waist is waay too loose and baggy. Maybe a runner would enjoy the cooling effect of that. Maybe beefier meatier thighs need that. For my scrawny legs, almost no coverage whenever a leg goes up.3rd purchase (this Mier) in size S, best yet. Fits like shorts, follows leg movement. The material has some stretch, but nowhere near enough stretch to wear a tight-fitting size. Material is lightweight, but seems opaque enough when wet (speaking for black, other colors may be more transparent). Shorts are used for kayaking, swimming, and hiking. Hiking usage is as a layer under full-length pants on hot days. On the trail, shorts feel cool and light. Material seems too thin and fragile for sitting on a log, need to cover the tree bark before sitting. The two zipper side pockets are generous size. There is plenty of room for my phone (pockets of other shorts barely fit, phone is Samsung S23 ultra in Otterbox case). Other shorts pockets were near the side seams, but Mier side pockets are slightly forward, well placed in my opinion. While walking, advantage of this forward position is that a heavy wad of keys in the side pocket will follow leg movement instead of swinging as a pendulum. But, pocket position is not so far forward that the wad of keys hangs in an uncomfortable place while sitting. This Meir is the one I would re-buy when I need more.

I run, during which I sweat, profusely. Therefore, I like minimalist clothing because there is nothing worse than wet shorts with so much fabric to them that by the time your run is done you feel as though you’re toting a wet garbage bag around your midsection. Having said that, I’m also cheap, so there’s no way I’m paying $70 or more for a pair of famous-running-shoe-company-branded shorts. So, I took a chance on these shorts and have not been disappointed. Construction quality is sound, shorts are light, and though I could do with a skoch less fabric in the front, they’re fine in that respect too. I’m 5’ 10”, 149 lbs, 29” waist, so I bought size Small and they fit perfectly. Could carry a phone in the pockets but wouldn’t bc it WILL flop about; key and ID are enough. Inner lining is comfortable, and running in them feels as close to running nekkid as I can get. So yes, if you have requirements like mine and are as “frugal” as I am, these are highly recommended.

Cut is too wide even for a small size, picture fitting looks better than actual shorts

Living in the Philippines is definitely hot and humid. That is why I bought these to help stay cool. They are too short to wear in public here as I live in a more conservative region. I wear them in my walled yard and in the house. One of the best buys I have made. I could actually do without the liner (may cut it out). However if it wasn't there they probably would not sell since they target runners. Can't run any more but I speed walk inside 30 minutes each day. These certainly make speed walking more comfortable with zero resistance and much cooler. Only have three pairs so they are being washed often. Need more, but currently the only carrier I trust is having problem routing because they can’t go through China (COVID19). After things get worked out I plan to buy 5-10 more pairs, unless I bite the bullet. All of my other shorts are boxed up except a couple pairs for when people drop by. Otherwise at home these are all I want to wear. All my more expensive light weight cargo shorts and walking shorts are just too warm and confining. The only thing that would make them better for me would be no liner and a zipper. It just more fitting to my needs however I perfectly happy with them!
