About this item

  • QUICK LOCK TECHNOLOGY: You can add and remove blades without tools thanks to the latch on the side of the unit
  • VIBRATION REDUCTION: An internal counter weight mechanism makes using the tool more comfortable and provides you with greater accuracy in your cuts

  • HIGH POWERED MOTOR: You can rip through wood at speeds as high as 3,000 strokes per minute, depending on how hard your press down on the variable speed trigger
  • CARRYING CASE: A high-impact rated polyurethane case is included for easy storage for your reciprocating saw
  • Powerful 12 Amp Motor: Delivers 0-3,000 SPM for high performance cutting in a variety of materials
  • 1-1/8-Inch Stroke Length: Provides maximum cutting speed
  • Gear Protecting Clutch: Extends gear and motor life by absorbing high impact forces
  • Counter Weighted Mechanism: Provides reduced vibration for smoother operation

Product Description

Cutting through materials is a staple of any demolition job. If you want to do the best job possible, you get the Sawzall from Milwaukee, the top name in construction hardware. This particular reciprocating saw is a feature-laden behemoth that can tackle whatever you throw in its way. It’s specially designed for more rugged environments, with internal components that keep important areas, like the motor, protected from jobsite abuse. For example, it has a gear protecting clutch. This handy device absorbs high impact forces you would expect a saw of this caliber to be putting out on a daily basis. In doing so, it keeps the motor and surrounding gears protected, improving their longevity and giving you a more powerful cut in your daily operations. You’re likely going to be cutting through a variety of materials, particularly if you’re working demolition in a residential area. You’ll need different blades to slice through wood and metal. With the Quick Lock system, you won’t need a tool to be able to switch them out. You only need to pull the latch, replace the blade, and close the latch. After your blade of choice is in the saw, rev it up with the variable speed trigger that activates the powerful motor up to 3,000 SPM. You’ll be able to tear through just about anything on the job with the help of Milwaukee.

From the Manufacturer

The 6519-31 Sawzall Recip Saw delivers best in class cut speed, durability and power with 0-3,000 strokes per minute, a 1-1/8-Inch stroke length and a 12 Amp motor. The gear protecting clutch extends gear and motor life by absorbing high impact forces and a QUIK-LOK blade clamp offers fast tool-free blade changes. To provide greater user comfort, a counter weighted mechanism reduces vibration for smoother operation and a redesigned front grip area provides best in class ergonomics. Note that product package does not include blade. Blades are sold separately.

I tried a couple battery versions of other brands. And then came back to this sawzall. It is simply a beast. Love that it has trigger control which allows variable speed cutting and starting the cut. That's a huge help. Has crazy power and blazes through nails and wood. Metal is a bit slower, but with the right blade it still goes right through it. Easy twist blade change. The key is always using the right blade for the right job. Otherwise, this sawzall has the power to mow right through.I had my old one for ten years without a single hiccup (until it was stolen). And I'm back again. Any homeowner who works around he house needs one of these.

I recently had to cut up a 275 gallon heating oil tank to remove it from my basement. I decided that my 'old enough to vote', 6.5 amp Craftsman reciprocating saw wasn’t up to the job and that I owed it to my happiness to buy a modern replacement. I looked at Milwaukee, DeWalt, Skil and Bosch for saws in the range of $100 or so and 12 amps. All looked to be good saws but I decided on the Milwaukee because of it’s reviews and features and long warranty. It has an anti-vibration feature that not all the others have and the reviewers claimed it’s rugged. A clutch helps prevent gearbox breakage. Plus, it has a nice case (not all do) with room for some blades. And it’s a real Sawzall! Amazon’s price was around $20 less than I could buy the same saw locally. The saw cut up the tank with ease. I used 18 and 24 tooth Bosch and Lenox blades, using mostly the 18 tooth. I bent a few blades but that was due to curved steel and the operator, not the saw. The quick release blade function worked well, even with gloves on (needed because the blade and clamp mechanism get hot). The saw has plenty of power to zip through 12 gauge steel and I cut that tank up into about a dozen manageable pieces to carry up the stairs. It also cut through the thick steel of the welds and flanges quickly. The saw itself got warm but not hot. I’m pleased with the purchase and give the saw five stars.

Milwaukee brand. That says it all. Quality manufacture and operation.Personally, I prefer wired tools, all my tasks are in or near the house, so access to an outlet is not an issue. The power of 12amps enables this saw to handle almost any job.Solid construction and handles well. It is a bit heavy, but that's to be expected.Ergonomically...well designed.Solid, high recommendation to buy for anyone searching for a reliable, powerful reciprocating saw. Also, get quality blades....get the right tools, and jobs are executed efficiently and effectively.

Great saw. Lots of power and comes in a nice hard case. Tough to beat Milwaukee when it comes to reciprocating saws! Very fast tool-less blade changes. I picked up the Milwaukee 12 piece demolition blade set (Also on Amazon) and it has a great variety of different blades in a nice hard plastic carrying case. The case of blades easily fits into the molded plastic Sawzall case.Would definitely but this again and would recommend it to a friend.

This is one great tool !I have owned this tool for over a year. Sill works like brand new.In my opinion it's a must have for every person ( doesn't matter if you are a DIY'er or a carpenter ).I have used this tool for multiple tasks ( cutting wood, metal, or plastic ) and it performed flawlessly. It is very efficient for demolition jobs.I have not found the need for a bigger and more powerful sawzall. This model has a quick install / release for the blade. You just turn a little metal wheel, drop the blade in, release the wheel and you are good to go. It takes 3 seconds to do it. You don't need any tools to change the blade. The mechanism that holds the blade in place dose get really hot if you you use the tool for a long time. It is not inconvenient from my point of view. You just have to be careful when you change the blade. And one other important feature is the speed adjustment. The speed adjuster is in the trigger itself. The harder you press, the faster it goes.I think this one is going to last a long time just like any other Milwaukee tool that I own.

Did all I wanted it to do. I even used it with a long wood blade to cut the roots of a small tree right out of the ground.

Recently got this tool, after countless recomendations from friends, family and my own research (internet review, etc). For $99 this is an awesome deal. The saw has the power for house projects and much more, I built some cabinets and a deck, this tool was by my side the whole time. A+The blad can be installed right side up or upside down, the trigger is sturdy enough to keep you from accidentally going full speed. There's no variable speed knob, you simply use the trigger, the softer the squeeze, the less power and vice versa. Here's what you get: 1 Saw of course, intructions, that's it. It comes in a nice hard case, which doesn't have much room for other tools or PPE.I didn't notice any issues, no over heating, etc. Make sure you follow the instructions carefully and you should be fine. Nothing much to say, I'm not a professional builder, but I can handle my own, so if you are just like me, a regular guy, this tool will be more than enough.By the way, I bought these and they work great. I only used one wood and one metal for my entire project!

I don't need to go into the features of this simple tool because anyone thinking of buying one already knows how versatile it is or, if they don't, just read the product description and other reviews. All I will say is that this is how all power tools should be made. It's a serious tool for serious, heavy-duty work. Some might quibble with the use of plastic but modern high-impact plastics are, in many ways, better than metals, especially aluminum and other alloys. I have seen many broken metal power tools but I don't recall every seeing a broken tool with plastic housings, etc. Also, using plastics (properly) allows for double insulated tools that are safer. This tool is proof that Milwaukee is in the business of making serious tools for day in and day out heavy duty work unlike some of the cheap tools out there. The case is very nice too. I also really like the blade lock system. I only wish my old saber saws had such a system instead of the two screws you have to mess with.I have been a tool freak for 46 years of my 62 years and I really appreciate fine tools and this saw is truly a fine tool.
