All of the grandchildren played with it. 5, 4 and 2 1/2 years old, it was easy to learn how to use

I bought for 3 yr old with autism and it’s too difficult for him to keep moving with his hands to talk and listen.

4 stars if you're willing to sit and help your child use it. The maximum recording time is 10 seconds. The sound is good. There's a beep to signal the end of 10 ten seconds. You have to hold the sliding plastic piece fully open while recording or listening. Because it's spring-loaded and rounded, which I like for safety, it's a bit slippery and takes some effort to hold open. I wonder if a child could do this while also concentrating on speaking into the receiver for the short time they have to record. 3 years of age would probably be the minimum, unless they have help. I do like the colors, the dual handles, and the light weight to carry it around. It just might depend on your child's temperament as to whether they'd enjoy it or just be frustrated by it. 3 AAA batteries not included.
