My grandson wanted a mini bear trap. I wasn't sure that there was such a thing, yet found it available on Amazon. Yes, it's just like a big bear trap, with the jaws that fold down and a trigger panel is in the center, yet it doesn't hurt when it closes on your finger. It falls apart somewhat easily, yet it also easily put back together. It's a fun toy and doesn't hurt anyone.

I had something like this a really long time ago when I was a kid except that one was a lot more flimsy and would fall apart because the pieces were thin enough that the metal would flex if it pressed against anything so it was fun to play with but never would have held up as a key chain despite being a key chain. This one, I'm happy to say is a lot more sturdy. It also has teeth which my old one didn't and that made me a little nervous trying it with my finger but for the sake of science, I did and it worked and it hurt... but only a tiny bit. It's not dangerous or enough to break skin or anything. All in all, well made for what it's intended to be and unlike my old one, this will work fine as a key chain. My only real complaint is it seems a bit pricey for what it is. I feel. it could stand to be a few dollars cheaper but other than that, what you see is what you get.

A good novelty buy for, I dunno, hunters and fans of the Saw franchise? It's an odd but fun little piece. The trap is a bit hard to set up because it's very thin and everything has to be positioned just right, but it does work. Tripping it is a bit of a pinch that would conceivably make a child upset but it doesn't break the skin or anything terrifying. Definitely feels a bit dollar store, or tourist trap, but it's fun.
