I currently use a few open back headphones, the HD6XX and Hifiman HE400SE. They sound great working off my JDS Labs Atom amp. But if you know these headphones, the bass isn’t as pronounced as closed back. I just wanted a simple way to add a little bass to them for certain applications, mainly playing games off my PS5. That meant software EQ wasn’t an option and a real hardware EQ was kind of expensive.Obviously this isn’t a real EQ but the simple treble and bass adjustments are perfect and work great adding in just a slight amount of bass. Audio quality remains the same and I found this a great way to slightly adjust the sound to my liking.One important thing to mention is that you definitely need a power adapter which is not included. I just bought a generic 12v/2a DC adapter on Amazon to power it up. Without it you get -15db output which makes volume extremely low. When you plug it in, you’ll need to push in the power switch or you’ll get a humming noise. Once the switch is on with power, it’ll act as a pre-amp and be able to properly adjust treble and bass.One last thing. This model is just a generic brand (just came in a plastic wrap, no box) and there’s a bunch of different sellers selling the same thing. So just get the cheapest one you find. Or you could buy it on Aliexpress for cheaper. I just purchased this one since it was the cheapest I currently found on Amazon.
