I've purchased several of these mini drums in the last few months. They all have a consistent, wonderful sound. Very calming. I will probably purchase more in the future.

I got this thinking that it would make a pretty sound in the rain. I can’t hear it when it rains. I put it in the shower but it started leaving a rusty looking ring under. I don’t recommend.

Hello there, nice to meet you! ;o)Wow... These Mini Rain Drums are popular right now! That said, it was hard to order one to review, as they disappear quickly.Needless to say, the smaller the drum, the opportunity for less than optimal sounds it makes. I will confess I was able to order a different mini drum right after this one arrived for some comparisons to be made.First, the pros:Comes with a mallet and the all-important songbook to learn how to play this type of drum.The surface numbers are silkscreened on, which is great, as opposed to stickers that fall off of most drums being sold right now.The 3 inch 6 note drum has a lovely finish, and comes in a nice gift-ready box.The cons, I'm sorry to say, outweigh the positives:The sounds are remarkably tinny, without much depth of sound. My musically inclined hubby commented the sounds were much quieter than the other mini drum we got shortly after for comparison.This drum wobbles on the rubber stopper-- which the other drum did not.The sounds did not change with the rubber stopper removed.The tones on each of the steel tongues, lacked in depth, and the volume was not loud enough to enjoy.In summary, I'm hard pressed to recommend this drum, despite its beautiful finish and silkscreened numbers. My search must continue further to find an enjoyable, mediative version, as these drums vary considerably in quality on several levels.
