Edison-style bulbs are extremely hard to beat when it comes to color temperature in the evening and all Smart bulbs use LEDs, which get close, but not quite there. That's where this beauty comes in.I used two of these plugs to accomplish two things:1. Smart-ify two of my lamps that use Edison bulbs and holy cow, the plug works brilliantly.2. Extend the range of my Z-Wave network. The plugs did both of those tasks brilliantly. Now my living room and office are dimly lit with a lovely amber hue, and my deadbolts don't lost Z-Wave connection with my Home Assistant server.

I have several of these now and just bought two Dimmer capable ones. I didn't know I bought the dimmer model unit I added them to my Smartthings Hub.One of the dimmer capable units is not working right. When I set it to 100% brightness the light turns off and when I set the brightness to high say 85% percent the light flashes on and off. I think the unit is faulty. I need to find a way to get it replaced. I have tried several different LED bulbs in the lamp and it always acts the same way. The other unit works fine with no issues. I have several of the non-dimmer units with no issues at all. I find these Minoston units to be one of the easiest to joint my Smartthings network.

Update: customer service helped me resolve this issue... I'm happy with the support. No product is perfect, and you get 5 stars from me when you treat the customer right.Unfortunately, I only tested one of the two I bought. It worked great, and does exactly what I want. The second one is dead. No LED, no activity, no power. It is sadly later than the return window, and Amazon's site gives me no options when I say "get support". I'd hoped to ask for troubleshooting ideas, and how to get warranty support. Neither option seems to exist.

After updating my previous review when the miniplug died, Minoston rep reached out within a day or two. I didn't plan to contact support directly. In this economy right now you don't get any support from anyone (looking at you Sonoff, still waiting on those 2 replacement plugs/refund for your bad firmware junk that takes down my entire Zigbee network). So the fact Minoston offered me either a refund or replacement *on their own*, gets them back 5 stars for now. That means they care enough to actually have at least one person on staff to monitor customer satisfaction.I have a number of Minoston Zwave devices. They don't have all the, sometimes extraneous, features of lets say, Zooz, but for the price they are great so far.Anyone willing to own up to a faulty product and make it right is 100% A+ to me. Lets see how it goes from here, not afraid to come back and update in another year.---Older review:Mini plug w/o power monitoring nor dimming. Plain old switch. Died, barely used, was using it as a repeater.

Z wave portable outlets have come down in size and are therefore now more convenient to use. My experience with this product is great. Inclusion (pairing) and exclusion work well. This outlet has preformed flawlessly on my z wave network. I have used it with ADT Pulse and with Hubitat z wave controllers. As always, check to be sure this device is compatible with your z wave controller before buying. For those new to automation, z wave devices, such as this, must have a z wave controller. Most z wave controllers can integrate with Alexa and Google voice assistants to allow voice control of this outlet, But, without a z wave controller you can't use this device at all, and certainly not wih Alexa or Google voice assistants.

Lo compre para controlar las luces de navidad. Incluirlo en un controlador Zwave Vera fue muy facil y rapido.Solo el precio me parecio algo elevado para un producto tan sencillo.

The mini smart plug was easy to setup and connect to my zwave hub. It worked well until last week when it suddenly went dead. I tired several outlets and confirmed there was power to the outlet. I reviewed the manual but it’s just dead. No led light at all. I contacted Amazon and was asked to send a support request to the seller which I did. The Amazon rep told me the seller is required to respond within 48 hours and that if they couldn’t help he assured me that they won’t leave me hanging. He also assured me he would call or email me to make sure this was resolved. I got no response from the seller and no follow up from Amazon. I contacted Amazon support after 4 days and was quickly told “it’s been 2 months and we can’t help you”. I confirmed that rep could see the message j was sent by the first rep but was again told there was nothing they could do. No help from seller. No help from Amazon. Device died after 2 months for no apparent reason.

I have been using this zwave outlet device for a few days only but honestly it works flawlessly. It connected to my HA server using aeotec stick on the first attempt. The outlet is on a different floor, on diagonal opposite direction and it is still getting the signal quite well.I just ordered another one to use as repeater for the rest of the basement!

My Gecko's lights had been on a very old, very noisy "wheel style" vacation timer. It was time for an upgrade. We use our Abode security system as a Z-Wave hub. Abode wanted $40 for their clunky power switch. This one was smaller and cheaper.I was worried the mini-plug might not work with our old Gen1 gateway. But it paired right away and everything works flawlessly. Now I don't have to listen to the old vacation timer grinding away, and if the power goes out it doesn't throw the lighting schedule out of whack. While the default options are what I need, it's worth noting this little Z-Wave plug has some extra settings that may be of use to some.1. You can configure the plug's behavior when power is restored after a power outage. By default it just returns to whatever state it was in before the power went out. But you can configure it to always be on or always be off if that's preferable for your situation.2. The manual on/off button on the side lights up blue when the plug is switched to ON and outputting power. You can alter this behavior so that the blue light is either always on or always off.Great product!

I used this with my Habitat Z-Wave controller. It detects and setups within seconds without any issue. It works very well as well. I give only 4 stars because of 2 reasons: 1) My controller detects it as "Zooz Double Plug", but it is actually a single plug. It doesn't really do any harm. 2) There is a slight 2 seconds delay between you press the button to the actual device turn on.
