I uploaded a picture of my 2017 Toyota Sienna with 1.25" hitch. I had issues with the bolts sticking down and occasionally scraping the ground so I installed the device upsidedown. I can't remember if I cut down the bolts....I think they just worked. It completely eliminated any clunking and I'm very happy.Notice the u-bolt is around the section of the hitch you insert NOT the section of the hitch attached to the vehicle. I saw another picture uploaded which was incorrect.

Works great for me on a 1-1/4" receiver. I normally use it when I have my bike rack mounted, but it's worked just fine with an actual trailer too. It takes almost all of the rattle out of the drawbar. My car is pretty quiet and I noticed the difference immediately. The first time I installed it, some of the powder coat on the inside corners rubbed off. I was worried that it would start rusting there, but it hasn't yet after several more uses.I did notice that the hardware loosened up after driving for a while, even when run down pretty tight. I ended up drilling 1/8" holes through the ends of the U-bolt and installing cotter pins to retain the nuts and washers. I didn't like the idea of any of the pieces falling off of my car at highway speeds. Now the nuts are permanently captured and I can still loosen it enough to slip it over the receiver for installation and removal.Overall, it's a great product. I'm glad I spent a little bit more to get the one that was made in the USA.

This is the second anti-rattle device I’ve tried and performs well. It doesn’t completely eliminate the clunking, but really cuts it down to the point you don’t feel that everything might fall apart at any moment. It’s really well made.I paid a premium versus other tighteners, and believe I got a decent value for my money. At $30 it’s a 4 star product. I just checked and the latest price is $15. (Late 2022). If you see it for this price snatch it up, it’s 5 stars.

These work great. I have a cargo rack and a motorcycle rack, and both lock down tight with no wobble at all. The motorcycle rack carries a 500 lb. dual sport and the rack's another 70 lbs. and all 570 lbs. are incredibly solid with this hitch stabilizer installed. Installation takes less than 5 minutes. And of course it's actually made here in the U.S.A. for a nice change....

I put this on in early spring and take it off in late fall. It's finishing it's third year, with no issues. I use it on an ATV hauler, the trailer and vehicle can be up to 2400 lbs depending on the loading. This tightener stops all the clanking and backlash - so much nicer a ride without all that going on back there.I make sure to tension the hitch mount so that when the tightener is clamped on, there's no play to be taken up by the mount changing position when first loaded. Another good idea is to put it on loosely and tighten it up once the trailer is hooked up, and stretched out. There are some negative reviews - this is not something that lifts up a hitch mount carrier device, it's not meant to carry a lot. Steel will bend, and it's not made to lift a sag, it's just meant to stabilize. And at that, it's very good.No excessive rust or problems, it goes on every year and keeps things quiet. Good stuff

Excellent product - rattling from hitch virtually eliminated. Wish I'd found this hitch tightener years ago!UPDATE #1: I installed three of these on my hitch set-up during a cross country trip. After the 3rd stop - where I always check to make sure everything is tight and secure I realized that both nuts on one of these brackets were striped. After reading other reviews I had been VERY careful not to over-tighten them when installing them.I had a dual hitch bicycle receiver (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B000P6CJ9O/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) attached to my my vehicle's receiver - which is where the hitch tightener failed. I then had a hitch mount bike rack attached to the upper receiver slot and a standard 2" hitch ball inserted in the lower receiver slot (see pic). The hitch tighteners at both of those other two connections worked perfectly - so I'm thinking the flexing of the hitch extender piece in the receiver simply put too much stress on the nut threads. It's possible I may have been asking it to do more than was realistic.UPDATE #2: After posting my initial update I was contacted by the seller - who did a great job resolving the issue and ensuring I had what I needed for the return trip home. I was very impressed with the customer service/support and happily recommend this product and company. Just keep in mind that the torque/stresses placed on hitch connections (especially unconventional ones like my situation) can potentially be too much for any hitch tightener to handle.

I had a Curt 2" hitch installed on my Forester in 2013. Although Curt makes a decent hitch, I was surprised at the amount of play. With no load on the trailer, the hitch rattled like crazy. Since I had a Curt hitch, I looked at the Curt tightener first. After reading the reviews for Curt, I looked at a number of hitch tighteners.I decided to go with this one for several reasons: made in USA, reasonably priced, easy to install, looked to be very well made.Instructions are included, although probably not needed - a picture would do. The tightener went on in a few minutes - the hitch is now solid as a rock. I put a spare 3/4" wrench in the storage compartment so I'd have it handy to check the nuts or in case I need to remove the hitch. This tightener is a bit beefier than it looks in the picture - I wasn't expecting it to be quite as hefty as it is. It definitely does the job.If you're looking for a hitch tightener, look no further - click the link:
