I saw in the instructions where it says, "Use Silicone Lubricant To Keep Pump Working Smoothly" or something similar...Right, I'm going to unscrew the feed hose from the pump and squirt silicone into the pump housing each time I fill my lawnmower or generators.I installed it on the fuel tank full of unleaded, cranked it to make sure it worked, then let it be for a couple of weeks. Had a major power outage and had to refuel our generators in the wee hours of the morning - pump wouldn't turn. Got it to move, but it was obvious the seals in the pump had welded themselves to their mating surfaces. Would not get better, as a matter of fact, after pumping about a gallon, it siezed completely and I had to remove the fuel hose and attach it to the bottom of the tank for gravity feed.Bad design, (it has no seal to keep water from running down the feed tube into the tank either - had to use ventilation tape...) and I think they know it - probably the reason for the silicone warning in the booklet.Would never buy from this manufacturer again.

The adapter for attaching the pump to the walker uses only a friction screw, so 1) the suction pipe is wiggling around while pumping and 2) when transporting or filling the walker more than 1/2 full while laying down, the gasoline runs out of the walker at the suction pipe. Whoever designed this is completely irresponsible.On top of that, the gas pump freezes after the first use with gasoline. My pump came without the red paint, just bare aluminium, probably because others had complained about the freezing and the manufacturer thought it is because of the gasoline dissolving the paint. But no, the gaskets in the pump are made of plastic!!!Don't even think of buying it, the pump is complete junk. I would rate this 0 but the system only allows a minimum of 1.Now ordering a Tuthill/Fill-rite FR112...

I purchased the 29g Gas Walker and this pump to fill my pontoon boat and various lawn equipment. Gas Walker is built like a tank. Moeller Rotary Pump is cheaply made junk. I have gone through 2 of these pumps and they do not work. They both stopped working after 1 use, seemed to freeze up, and the handle simply would not turn. I finally purchased the Tuthill Rotary Hand Pump . I had to pay a bit more plus freight but it's made in America, sturdy, and works like a champ. Amazon refunded my money on the Moeller pump and did an excellent job as usual.
