Dear seller, I do not own this banjo this banjo, but I had to give a rating inorder to submit this review. I gave it 3 stars as the sound of any 5 string banjo is in the correct "set up".However, knowing some about banjos you have some errors in your description. The weight of this banjo having that roll bell brass tone ring would be somewhere between 12 - 14 pounds, not 5.99 lbs. And unless there is some kind of electronic pickup or transducer installed in it there would be no reason to require an alkaline battery. Pleaee correct your description if you want serious inquiry about this banjo - I believe this would be an excellent to own with the right "set up".

I was hoping this would be a decent banjo because it has 2 coordinator rods and a cast tone ring. They usually are found only on more expensive banjos. The quality is shockingly poor. The shoes are drilled too low on the rim so the hooks only connected by 2 or 3 threads. The nuts become lose and fall off or strip out. The rim was really beat up with wood blow outs on the neck studs and many finish de-lam & chipped spots. The resonator bracket is deformed because of a poorly setup stamp die. The heel cutout on the resonator back was over-cut by 5/8 inch and 5 layers of felt was glued in to try to hide it. There is more but you get the picture. In the process of a complete tear down and reassemble it is starting to sound nice, but you might as well build your own banjo. I heard that some of the early Morgan Monroes can be very good. If all the new ones are like mine, don't buy.
