DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!!! I bought this product because it claimed to be stainless steel, but after a few weeks of daily use it started to develop rust spots on the bottom inside the bottle, tainting the water. I even purchased a second bottle for work and it also developed the same rust issue.

I got this for my step mom since we can’t take the big seltzer machine with us the beach. She loves how easy it is and how well works. Great price for a perfect product

This is surprisingly simple kind of machine that does work well. I wasn’t super impressed with the fact that it doesn’t come with any kind of samples for CO2 because SodaStream does indeed come with a container to use but this one is just a little bit cheaper that this one. I had to purchase a container of 8 gram CO2 (don’t use NO2) but it does make flavored water taste so much better with bubbles. I use this to carbonate some spring water flavored with flavoring drops and it tastes as good if not better than the store sparkling water.Pros:Easy to operateNot a bad dealCarbonates very well (as good as SodaStream)Well madeSimple processCons:Does not come with any CO2 samplesOverall, it’s a good gift idea and/or for making your own sparkling water

I'm a stay at home mom and like to have something other than water to drink all day long. I thought this might be a great alternative to buying pop from the store. This DOES NOT come with the carbonated cartridges so you have to buy those separately. Overall, it's okay, but probably not something I would keep investing in. I thought I would like the smaller, more portable size (and it is great in terms of storage), but when it comes down to how much you can make at a time it really isn't that much. I have 5 kids so if I want to share some with them then I have to make 2 bottle full. And even just for me, I think I get only 2 glasses out of it. As my title suggests, the carbonation does not last that long. I suppose that's not such a big deal because it doesn't make that much and you'll go through it, but you don't want to make it and then let it sit in the fridge because it will quickly go flat. It has been easy to clean and if you get a syrup you like it is nice to add the carbonation.

This is a soda making bottle that works with MOSA carbon dioxide cartridges. The bottle stands 12” high and is 3” in diameter at the base. It is made of solid stainless steel. To use it, you pour in ¾ liter (3 cups) of tap water or juice, screw on a MOSA food grade carbon dioxide cartridge (sold separately), let the cartridge discharge into your liquid, remove the empty cartridge, shake the bottle a little to mix, refrigerate for several hours, release the extra gas, and you’re good to go for 3 servings of carbonated soda. Also included in the box is a plastic funnel for filling the bottle. The bottle is dishwasher safe.I have had very good results using this bottle to make carbonated water at home. The water comes out very well carbonated, as bubbly as any store bought fizzy water. I thought this bottle might be a good way to reduce costs and recyclable bottles at home, but on that score, it’s a little iffy. Good food grade cartridges run at least $0.50 a piece, which comes out to $0.17/serving, which isn’t that much cheaper than store bought water. And although you don’t end up with a pile of plastic bottles for recycling, you do end up with a pile of steel cartridges for recycling, which doesn’t seem much like a resource savings. Countertop units like a Sodastream can get your costs down to about $0.12/serving, but you have higher costs for the unit, plus it takes up a lot of room on your countertop. A big plus for this water bottle type unit is that it is very portable—you can take it on picnics or car trips and make carbonated water on the spot where you need it without electricity, but keep in mind that a cooler for the bottle and water makes for much better results. Also keep in mind that it’s important to choose a good supplier of carbon dioxide cartridges. Some of the cheaper cartridges are not food grade and may contain machine oils or other nasty substances. Overall, this is a very effective and easy way to make carbonated drinks at home, if you don’t mind the monetary and resource costs of the carbon dioxide cartridges. It is especially good for people who want to make carbonated beverages just a few times a week rather than several times a day and don’t want the expense and loss of countertop space involved with a large unit.

I wish I could give this 5 stars - it is easy to use, relatively portable, makes great bubbles for those that like to be able to make a more sharp bubbly water (which I love). However, sitting here drinking my water and it tastes like rust. Even poured it into another container and it is worse. I think a better lining in the bottle could easily fix this issue, but until then I cannot recommend this product.

I remember fondly watching my father make seltzer with CO2 cartridges when I was a kid. I was looking forward to duplicating the experience when I selected this from the Vine offerings. Since I had never made sparkling water myself, I assumed everything I needed would be in the package. What a disappointment that there was no cartridge included nor any warning, “ cartridge not included.” Seems like one cartridge could have been added to get you started. When I started the process (after purchasing a box of CO2 cartridges) by following the long directions included, my first attempt was a failure because the gas escaped immediately. The second try worked although I don’t think I did anything different. The sparkling water was fine, but factoring the cost of the kit plus the cartridges, it seems cheaper just to buy seltzer at the store by the bottle.
