I bought this for my Polaris Ranger 500 which called for the part # listed here, #3085352. After I kept having the overheat light coming on, I was chasing overheat causes when I'm reality the only problem was that this is a crappy part. After changing the thermostat, the impeller, and radiator cap, and bleeding the cooling system repeatedly to make sure there was no air in the system, I removed and tested this sensor. Results... It activated at 198°F instead of the correct temperature of 221°F! Meaning it says it's overheating when it's in normal operating temperature! I tested it with both a thermal imaging camera while in the UTV and by placing it in a pot of hot water. I could have saved hours of work, frustration, and quite a bit of money by purchasing a different sensor to begin with! I took the recommendation of another review and bought a sensor from Quad Logic.

Does not operate within temperatures shown in the maintenance manual (1999 Polaris Sportsman 500). Should close around 220 F. I tested this with a pot of water, thermometer, and multimeter. Circuit closed @ 198 F. Open circuit at 170 F. Hot light will be on under normal operating temperature.Update: purchased the correct after market part from Quad-Logic. Look them up.
