my rav4 check engine and 4wl lights up all in a sudden. googled it, found out that i should change the gas cap. bought one from amazon with another brand, the lights went off but came back on in a week. bought this one, works fine for over a month now.

Not much to say about a gas cap, unless it didn’t fit, fell apart, or didn’t seal. Since none of that applies to this gas cap, all I can say is thank God there are still simple but well made things in this world!

While I eagerly awaited the delivery of my new gas cap I anticipated the delivery. Thinking about how nice it would be to install my replacement cap and know that everything was "CAPPED OFF".The delivery was spot on waiting for me upon my return home was a well package and boxed new aftermarket gas cap. I had done my homework and found many caps were not up to spec. But this one looked just like my old cap and also was the same cap offered at auto stores for 3 times the money under the Duralast name. Fit on perfectly and clicks. The rubber seal on the inside was so hard / broken on my old gas cap that gases would escape and throw check engine codes. Replaced it with this and never had that anxiety again.

The simpler an item the harder it is to break it. This guy does not even have a strap to attach it to the car, so there's one more thing that cannot go wrong. There's always a chance that I'll forget the cap at a gas station, but I am old enough to act in no hurry, so knowing me, this possibility will stay purely theoretical. It fits, it stays there, the error is not reappearing = the cap works.

I was getting an evap code on my Disco II. Gas caps have a pressure release that can wear out over time. Once I replaced my gas cap with this new one, the code went away. It is a nice, cheap, and easy fix. I've only had it about three months though, so I cannot comment too directly on the long term quality of the product, but I imagine for $6 it will last plenty long until I need a new one. Even if it only lasted a year I would be satisfied, but I'm sure it will last much longer.
