Unfortunately the item did not live up to its reviews as the one I received was 40, kept losing connection with my phone which is brand-new by the way, and also when the volume was turned up , The speaker crackled ! Hence I had to return it for full refund, and bought the anchor speaker which is amazing

We use this in our shop. We have it connected to a regular stereo so that we can listen to the music from our phones. It has a great range so I can keep my phone with as I move about the facility and when a call comes in, it mutes the music automatically so I don't have to run to the stereo to turn it down before I can take the call..

I work as a letter carrier with a walking route so having music and the speaker being lightweight is important so I was looking for an alternative to the Eco Extreme waterproof speaker I own seeing at that thing is bulky and the volume control is a manual knob...still use it while kayaking though. I have had the Sol for a few weeks now and can speak with a some use under my belt. As I said, I work a walking route and the battery lasts all day for me. One thing though, because it comes with a dual charger I pretty much charge it after work while charging my phone so I really haven't pushed it to see exactly how long the battery will last but I do agree it will go all day. It paired up pretty easily and quickly with both an ipod and iphone - one click on both. As for size, I usually throw it in my bag as I deliver or put it in my breast pocket, and although a bit large for the breast pocket it does work and I did get used to the size. Compared to the Eco Extreme it is about half the thickness and (surprising to me) a tad heavier but not noticeable probably due to being less boxy. I was looking for an inexpensive speaker with good sound that could take some abuse and I believe the Sol is that speaker. For a small speaker it does deliver quality sound (deep bass is meh but again for $50 you're not buying floor speakers) and the volume does get pretty loud. I have placed it in a room while doing dishes and laundry and it works well as a small room speaker as well. The sock/cover that comes with it is nifty as well and has probably spared mine from some scratches plus it has held up very well for as many times (charge it nightly with phone) that I've removed it. Overall I'm pretty happy with it and have no complaints maybe I'll update if anything does go wrong.Comes with: speaker, dual charger, cover, instructions

Came in time, works perfectly and exceeded expectations! Battery life is tremendous and clarity is superb. The one thing that stood out to me is that even though it's Bluetooth there is no lag between video and audio! Don't hesitate to purchase this!

This speaker is great. My only criticisms or things I would change is that I would like if it were a little smaller and louder but I suppose I can't really achieve both of those because one doesn't exactly lend itself to the other. Great sound, easy to use, the steal mode is cool and I like the audible battery life alert. The speaker actually tells you how much battery life is left each time you turn it on. Not some cheesy robotic voice or status bar, the voice sounds like a person. Easy controls for volume on the face of the unit, sleek looks and while on the larger side of handheld size, would fit in any bag or even large pockets. I've been toying with the idea of putting some hook & loop material on this so I can stick it to bags, and the like. Really good product and I like it. The Amazon price is definitely worth it considering the retail price when it debuted and the price I've seen for it elsewhere. When it comes to bluetooth speakers ya gotta go with a name you can trust unless you have the benefit of being able to test the product out prior to purchasing. This is a great speaker for indoor use, you could use it to satisfy the musical need of a house party on one floor of a house but hen used outdoors you need to be in the vicinity of the unit to enjoy it. The commercial for this item years ago showed kids having a pool party in a large backyard and that's misleading. Especially near a pool the sound doesn't travel very far and you would only be able to hear the music if you were in the pool area but hardly from across the yard. I've used it on my motorcycle and the highway speeds drowned out the sound but I also used it inside my camelbak while participating in a 5K and it provided sound for all those around me very well.

The SOL Republic Deck is a thoughtfully designed wireless speaker with nifty features not found in other comparable products. At its retail price of $199 there’s better sounding competition, but now that Motorola is closing them out I believe its a great value.I really love the design and bold colors. The SOL logo stretches across the top, and not only lights up when powered on, but changes colors in heist mode. There’s three buttons (2 for volume / 1 multifunction). It’s flat, which makes it ideal for many situations since you don’t have to worry about it tipping over. The audio is projected upward so everyone can hear clearly no matter where its at.After powering on a voice prompt tells you the remaining battery life and the Deck immediately goes into pairing mode. I was able to pair my iPhone quickly and start playing music. The audio is well rounded with a little bass, a nice midrange, and clear highs. There’s an outdoor mode which cuts the lower frequencies, so the volume can be pushed louder without distortion. It gets quite loud for its size.My two favorite features are heist mode and the 3.5mm line out. Heist mode will allow up to 5 bluetooth devices to connect simultaneously, and the SOL logo will change color each time someone "cuts in" and plays their music. You can identify them by the color shown. Pretty clever. The line out allows you to daisy chain other wireless speakers for louder audio. You can also mute the internal speakers and use Deck as a bluetooth receiver if you have a home stereo to connect to. This is a feature you hardly see in wireless speakers, and its nice to have the option given its portability. I haven’t tested the battery fully, but I believe most people are seeing 6-8 hours, which is decent. It charges fast. Bluetooth range is the best I’ve seen in a wireless speaker. My KMC3 is near a bay window, and will cut out if I walk further than the kitchen. The Deck hasn’t missed a beat yet indoors or outdoors.I didn’t think I would enjoy this wireless speaker as much as I do. I bought it for the beach (no, its not waterproof), but I find reasons to take it with me everywhere, while my Big Jambox sets on a shelf at home.
