I wanted something to give an on camera mic just a bit of isolation from the camera noise or the noise of my hands shifting. This is perfect.

It wiggles side to side when mounted, not good especially since I'm mounting a mic to it and you can hear all that movement. Plus it's plastic and just isn't great quality. I really wanted this to work!

Everyone that buys this bracket will have a different need and use for it but this is why I bought it and I hope it helps someone decide if it is right for them. I did not buy it for the dual shoe slot, I needed to get the microphone closer to the subject when filming content and this is a godsend and ESPECIALLY for the price. Also, if you have a lens that has a noisy motor when focusing, this is also about to be your best friend as it gets the microphone that perfect distance away from the lens. Hope this review along with the pictures help you decide if his is right for you. This is the Nikon Z50 in the pics btw.

Get what you pay for. It's strong enough and holds. But when assembled the bottom cold show plate isn't actually lined up perfectly with itself so that when in use, the arm is off toward the side a bit.

This product is very useful, just wish the locking mechanism worked better. Just slides off the camera or stand even after tightening all the way.
