This is a fairly complicated install. I did not expect it to be easy, and do have good knowledge of electrical in vehicles, which is very helpful. If you have some experience with vehicle wiring, it's really not too bad. It is very time consuming though to do correctly. I highly recommend the poke & wrap method of connecting wires. Do not use T-taps (there are way too many issues with doing these and very difficult to track down issues).Otherwise, this item works perfectly, as expected. Follow directions carefully and don't take any shortcuts. There shouldn't be any issues. Though, I do know why people pay to have these installed.

Works as it should. Specific for the Honda odyssey. I don’t like a few features, and it’s a bit quirky. But it works I guess

I recently got a new(er) car and the only thing my wife likes about it compared to her Odyssey is the remote start feature. During winter it hovers around freezing in the morning and when she takes the kids to school they are cold until the car warms up. I looked around at local shops to install a remote start, but they were either really expensive or had bad reviews. So I found this product and decided to DIY.This system is top notch. Once installed, it works great. Just a word of caution - it takes a bit of work to install it (which makes sense why a good installer costs a lot of money). You'll need to be comfortable with removing interior panels in the car, locating wiring harness connectors, and carefully cutting away insulation and splicing in connections for the remote start kit.We installed the system on a 2006 Honda Odyssey. The system is extremely flexible for use in many cars, so most of the wires available aren't used. They provided a set of instructions specific to our car with only the connections and programming procedures necessary for our install. After hooking up the wiring, the modules and wires must be stowed away so they aren't visible and don't get in the way of moving parts. Easier said than done. Be sure to have lots of zip ties on hand to tidy up the wiring. I like to zip tie the bundles of wires together so they are less of a mess, and then tie them to existing wiring harnesses if possible. There is a short procedure required to program the system to the car to ensure it's communicating properly and can read the engine idle so it knows when the engine starts. When it is installed, a press of the remote start button starts the car. Another press is required to then unlock the doors. Then a key must be inserted and turned to the run position. Hit the brake pedal and the remote start system disconnects and it's no different than if you had started the car with the key.It appears that it's possible to use the existing remote to unlock the doors after a remote start, but it required another wire splice and I opted to not do it.I had a bit of trouble getting the system to work after the install, because I didn't realize it was using the Odyssey's built in hood switch (I had the hood open but had the switch that comes with the kit disconnected, so was confused why it wasn't working). The system won't start with the hood open for safety reasons.
