When I buy nuts and bolts online, I like to get a set like this. In a hardware store, you can match up nuts to bolts by actually threading them on – make sure they’re going to work. Online, you can take a chance doing that, or, like this, buy them already paired up, even with washers as in this case.The components are good quality and the stainless steel seems decent.

SUMMARY3.0-stars--Good threads; acceptable quality; misleading adBACKGROUNDThis came up as a Vine suggestion and it looked like it might be the right size for making some clamps to attach my roof rack to my Jeep JL.INITIAL OBSERVATIONSInitial examination seemed to indicate acceptable build quality. All threads looked acceptable.COMPLAINTS / ISSUESThere is nothing in the ad that states the length of the bolts. Package dimensions are specified, but that doesn't tell you how long the actual bolts are. The ad does show an image where the bolts appear to go across the palm of someone's hand, but it has been my experience to not trust the images provided by the Chinese sellers on Amazon because they routinely (and poorly) photoshop their images onto stock images and do not get the scaling right (whether intentionally or accidentally is open for debate). I also could not find a link on the page to contact the seller to get this information. As it turned out, the bolts are slightly less than 2" in length for the shaft of the bolt. They probably used a metric measurement and went with 50mm which is pretty close to 2" (i.e. 50mm vs 50.8mm) figuring no one would notice. The only reason that I noticed is because they did not put the length of the bolts in the ad. I can't detract points for not being exactly 2" since they did not quote a length, but I can definitely detract points for not putting a length in the ad and using a deceptive image to make the bolts seem larger than they truly are.IMPRESSIONSScrewed all the nuts on the bolts and they went on without any issues. The threads were cut/rolled to acceptable tolerances.I did notice some difference in the magnetic attraction of the bolts vs nuts vs washers, so it's quite possible that they are a slightly different alloy.The length / thickness of the nuts was slightly more than the standard steel nuts that I had for this size from Home Depot. This gives more thread engagement and would make it theoretically stronger, so it's a GOOD thing.The flat and lock washers are a bit smaller diameter than I normally see for this size bolt. They will probably work for most situations, but I would prefer the flat washer especially to be a bit greater in diameter.CONCLUSIONThe product seems acceptable and it appears to meet all the specs in the ad. I could find no issues with the product, just the ad. If any issues develop though, I will revisit this review and update it.
