Our 20 year old nepolean fireplace would not turn on so replaced thermopile & thermocouple, cleaned pilot light & all good just like new.

Double check all part numbers..The screw end fit, but the side that sits in the flame didn't.. I've got it just sitting there loosely, which works, but not perfect.

Item had M8x1.25 threaded fittings. Stove has M8x1.0 so this item is not a direct fitment. Seller refunded. Why they use Napoleon part number as a cross reference and it clearly does not fit is wrong. Just a universal part.

I was not sure if it was the issue was the thermopile or the thermocouple. I replaced both. The natural gas fireplace works fine now.

If the pilot light on your Napoleon gas fireplace suddenly stops staying lit, this thermocouple is going to be the first thing that is recommended to replace. I replaced almost everything in my pilot light assembly before realizing that the burner was bad and I’d have to replace the entire assembly anyway, which is surprisingly only a few dollars more. The work getting this apart and re-routing parts into the old pilot assembly is actually more work than just replacing the entire assembly anyway. You’ll need some midget wrenches but this is a DIY project that should take all of an hour tops.
