I bought this because it was shown as "OEM", but from the time it was installed, it functioned erratically. It would work a few times and then not allow the pilot to stay lit. Had to spend way too much time to get it going in the season and a half, since this was installed. Need to purchase another, may have to try an aftermarket brand. Not sure who makes this for Napoleon but they need to up their QC!

Napoleon fireplace went out. Performed voltage measurement on thermocouple (OK if 8-30 mV) and thermopile (OK if 300 mV or more). Both checked out OK, except I noticed the TC gave varying voltages from cold to hot. Found the exact Napoleon part number here for my fireplace. The TC connection to the gas valve is on its rear corner, a very hard to access place in my fireplace installation. A few hours later and I have the TC installed. Now the pilot stays lit when I release the gas valve's control knob when doing the initial pilot lighting. Main flame comes on perfectly under the wall thermostat's control. It's been working perfectly for a week now. $8.00 is better than calling a local business, have them charge x10 for it, and $100/hr x 3 hrs for labor, not knowing if they'll do a quality job.

Worked like a charm. Fair price ($15CAD jan 2023), prompt delivery. Pilot stays lit in less than 10sec vs 5-10min being held on and then eventually never staying lit.
