The 5 in. square drain grate fits right on top of the pipe and is ideal for handling light flows of stormwater from small lawns, landscaped areas, walkways, and patios.
The 5 in. Square Drain Grate has an open surface area of 4.3 sq. in. and a flow rate of 13 GPM, ideal for a variety of landscaped areas. Connects to 4 in. sewer and drain pipe & fittings, 4 in. single-wall corrugated pipe, and 4 in. triple-wall pipe for a soil-tight fit. The drain grate, also known as a drain cover, is ADA Compliant and heel-proof. Built to stand up to the elements, it’s made of polyethylene, a type of plastic, using virgin and recycled content treated with UV inhibitors to prevent fading and cracking from the sun. As part of a complete drainage system, the pipe grate drains water and prevents debris from entering drain pipes. The pipes carry the water to a discharge point downstream such as a pop-up emitter, or to percolate into the ground with a dry well or infiltration trench.

works well, but not a common size. I ended up having to dry fit a few different adapters at lowes in order to get the right fit to scale down to a 1.5" diameter pipe that would fit into my downspout, and then patch around the drain with some concrete after installation to remove tripping hazards. It replaced a 4x4" paver, but isn't quite that big so there were significant gaps between the grate and surrounding pavers. All in all though, it's doing a good job. We'll see how it held up after this midwest winter is through.

This product is much cheaper than what is found at box stores, but there is not much of a lip to cover the vent pipe; just enough to keep it from falling into the stack.

Our lawn service cuts our grass so low that it ate up our drain covers. This one hugs the ground allowing the grass around it to anchor it down. It was very strong plastic, and seems like it should do the trick, we will see, but I am optimistic!
