I know these pillows are not a necessity necessarily, but they make such a huge difference, especially on a longer flight. I used this for my 5 hour flight and it made all of the difference in the world for my comfort. This pillow is soft and super squishy but still provides enough support for your neck. I had to smush it into my personal item, but the shape bounced right back. Definitely recommend!

I was hoping to be able to use this to support my neck while sitting in bed (working on a laptop), but it's too thick for my needs and is less comfortable than it is without it. The stitching on the inside edge also digs into my neck a bit. The material is nice and soft, but I likely won't keep it. It would probably work alright for a travel pillow, if that's what you need it for, but even then, it doesn't pack down small like I'm sure many others do. The filling is also your typical cotton-like stuffing, which definitely doesn't provide a plush, luxurious experience

My only regret with this neck pillow is that I did not have one years ago. There is nothing more uncomfortable than trying to sleep on an airplane, and this would have made it much better. This is a quality device that stays on your neck even if you are up moving around, so you do not have to take it off or lay it where it might pick up some bacteria or something.It would not take much space in a suitcase when traveling, as it can be bagged into a very small size. It does have a snap so that if it does not fit your neck while you can snap it so that it does stay on, but if you have a bigger neck that will not be needed. Can't save for certain what is inside the unit, but it feels somewhat like memory foam as it seems to contour to your neck and give you the most comfortable sitting or sleeping position available. This could be used comfortably in a car if you're on a trip or work, just as well on a train or plane.My travel days are behind me, so I mostly use it sitting in my chair in the evening which makes it a lot more comfortable. If you don't have one of these I highly recommend this one.

It has its uses. I got this one to replace another I've used for several years. I have to agree with some other reviewers in that this one uses a softer stuffing inside. To its credit though, it does fit comfortably around my neck and even snaps together okay. I'm a really large guy too!It actually functions just fine for me though when used as designed for, to encircle the entire neck for sleeping during various forms of travel or setting up sleeping!In fact, I actually find its additional softness a plus for me when used in that mode. Used for as designed for, I find it's actually more comfortable when directly compared to my still-functioning older, more incompressible one!My specific issue with it is I didn't really buy this one to use around my neck but instead, to place upright and separately entirely behind my head for watching TV in my favorite recliner. Used in this mode (odd, I know) I actually find it slightly too soft also! And am currently finding myself with a still-clear preference for using my old one over this one!But oddly enough, if trying to actually SLEEP upright I then prefer this new one!I suppose it's a case of, "You can't please everyone!". But again oddly enough, I personally prefer this slightly softer one for upright sleeping and though softer, it still supports the entire weight of my very large head (6'3" 300lbs) just fine!So I really can't complain too much. It'll work just fine for what it was actually designed for! Just not exactly as well for how I typically choose use one of these!And so, another case of clearly, "Your mileage may vary!".And really, it may STILL FIT YOUR NEEDS exactly! However, there does seem to be an emerging consensus this one is slightly softer than most expect or desire. It's just a slightly softer and probably by design with its purpose in mind.It also doesn't "at least, appear" to have a removable cover. Or if it does, I cannot locate any zipper like I can easily on my older (and possibly more expensive) one.
