Works ok on Time Warner BUT...I get 100MBPS from my internet. When I plug an Ethernet cable into the router I can get 100MBPS, BUT when I connect via wifi I only get 70 MBPS on my laptop. Wifi for my ipad is only 27 and on my iPhone 6 i only get 17 MBPS on a good day. The log jam is this router.

This has done pretty well for us. I had to call Time Warner about some initial connection issues (not sure who's end the problem was on), but apart from that, it's done pretty well. There have been times when it just dropped the signal entirely, but that hasn't happened often or lately (those issues may be related to the following paragraph).Something you need to know: (I'm about to make the IT guys cringe because of my uneducated nomenclature, sorry) there are routers that broadcast two frequencies (2.4 and 5 GHz, I think), and there are routers that only broadcast one frequency (2.4 GHz). This is the latter. But it's pretty cheap, so I can't complain.

Great shipping. I like the product--it does work great; however, tends to disconnect from WiFi about four times a day. The other negative, is you are unable to follow all those listed on your network and know when, who and web addresses visited. Of course that's a parenting or nosy spouse thing. The lights are keenly visible from across a 17 foot room. This a base model, never been modified. I was disappointed, I couldn't load 3rd party firmware to unlock several user settings. All-in-all it is a good modem. I have had it almost two-years and it still works like a charm.

Bought 3 of them, out of them, I am personally using one myself on Comcast Xfinity 25Mbps plan. Hooked up, power on, configure WiFi to connect, and activated in 1 minute although the serial number was blacked out. (Indeed, you can wipe the marker with 70% medical use alcohol that sells in your local pharmacy or acetone which you need to use it with caution as it can dissolve and discolor plastic )Anyways, if you wonder, here goes the steps for activation.1. Create a Xfinity online account first if you don't have yet.2. Hookup the coaxial cable from the wall to this modem/router.3. Plug in the power, and press the power button on the back of the model/router to turn the modem on.4. Look for your SSID/Password of WiFi (The sticker on the side of the modem/router)5. Use laptop/cellphone to connect the WiFi.6. Open up any browser in your device(Chrome/Firefox/IE/Edge/Safari or whatever), and type in [...] or [...] or any URL you want to connect.7. It will re-direct you to the comcast modem activation page.8. Use the Xfinity online account Login & Password to login and activate.9. Give it a minute to activate, and the modem/router might restart a couple times(All the lights will start blink in sequence)10. After you see the Internet and WiFi lights are on or blink, it it activated and ready to use.BTW, with this method, the modem activated by itself and provisioned. I didn't call the customer service at all to activate. In case your device fails to self provisioned, and you need to call the CS line, you can actually find the serial number of the modem which was marked out on the router status page. After connecting the WiFi of the WiFi, use browser to put in 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 (You can find that on the sticker as well), use "admin" as username, "password" as password to login. You will see the serial number there.Good Luck!

On the band wagon of canceling my outrageously over priced cable. I purchased this item and just pay for internet. I connected it quickly and easily. Basically just plugged it in, waited for all the lights to stop flashing, logged on to my laptop, connected to wifi (name and password of wifi is located underneath device) Then I opened my internet explorer/safari etc. and my comcast internet provider screen came right up to finish installation, logged in all my info and tada! Instant wifi. No need for the ethernet cable or anything else. Saved myself a $50 installation fee from my internet service provider, and a $10 a month rental fee for the modem. I just need it for netflix, amazon video, hbo online etc. And it's really fast. No buffering at all.

It definitely works well. I am happy with my purchase of this refurbished router by Netgear. I currently use TWC as an ISP. I had to pull up their PDF list of compatible routers. This was the cheapest factory refurbished router with built in WIFI that was on Amazon AND was on the list of compatible routers. It came with permanent marker on the serial number but the MAC address was exposed. TWC only needs the MAC address for new modem activation. Still, I needed the serial number to make my own WIFI name so I just got some rubbing alcohol and rubbed off the sharpie no problem. I have a 2 bedroom apartment so I cannot comment on the size of WIFI. regardless...15$/month ISP modem rental fee for 2 years = $360fully funtional WIFI refurbished modem = $73 ishsavings = $287Up yours TWC!

had to send it back; thanks, Amazon for crediting my account-xfinity could not validate the mac address or i.d. of the unit I was sent. I had to carefully remove the black ink which covered the numbers on the bottom even to be able to read them. ended up getting more expensive (new, also) Zoom AC1900, which works fine in multi-story house.
