I’ve had an Orbi mesh setup for about 6-7 years now. A few hiccups early on, but was solid after a couple firmware updates. My original RBR50 died after a power outage, so I found this refurbished version (which is listed as model RBK50, but it’s only the router) and decided to try it and save the hassle of a new setup.Setup took some doing, as my 4 satellites all needed reset so they could connect. Finally, after a couple hours of back and forth, it all connected. Things seemed to be back to normal. Fast forward a few days and my router is disconnected and flashing white. It will not reset with the reset button, just like the one it replaced.I’m done with Netgear products. Look for something more reliable.

The Orbi is the best router I’ve ever owned! I am not super hi tech! So I don’t know how many jigawatts or protons it broadcasts. However, it was super easy to set up! Hooked it up on the first try! Gave me the speed I pay my provider for. It also stays connected, and covers the entire house. This is the first router that has ever done that. I just have the base unit. I thought I would test it before buying an additional satélite unit. Glad I waited as I have great coverage in all areas of my 4,500 square foot home. This also has a super simple user interface. It shows exactly what you need and it’s easy to understand. Trust me if you want a great router this is it. Easy to set up, works great and covers my entire house. It’s a little big and kinda looks like a vase if you put it on a shelf. I like how it does not look like some space age contraption with 6 antennae sticking out of it. It blends in really well and is very sleek!So if you want just a great easy to use high quality router this is it. Great for single moms, old people , technically challenged people and any one else who does not have a degree in computer science. However, my neighbor who is a computer person was also impressed with this router.Highly recommend the Orbi

USE THE APP to do the setup!I am "old school".. I connected my laptop to the router directly for the initial setup thinking I'll be easier, I was wrong.The signal strength from this base router is excellent! Even over the air, I am getting "almost" the same speed as a direct wired connection, with very very drop in throughput efficiency, which is rare! And for the first time I was able to utilize all of the speed my cable company offered me.
