Laptop batteries are in the top 3 in the list of why laptops fail. They get puffy, they sit on chargers for years, or they just plain wear out. When that happens, it's all to common for people to throw out the whole laptop.I picked up a Dell Latitude e5580 for 20 bucks just because he couldn't get it to charge. Bought this battery, installed it, charged it up and bam 300 dollar laptop clean and ready to go for another 5 years. If you can turn a screwdriver, you can replace the battery. Just look up a video, follow it, and extend the life of your laptop. Happy to have it back in service.

The original 51W battery in my Dell Latitude E5490 laptop no longer held a charge, so I ordered this replacement. I didn't notice that this replacement was 72W... When I opened the box I was sure it was the wrong battery as it was so much longer than the original. Nope, it was a PERFECT FIT! It was mostly charged, so I discharged it first and then charged it with a 240W charger to save time. Please follow the directions enclosed with your new battery. You have to "break-in" Li-Ion batteries to get the most time on a charge and the most life. That means discharging and full-charging preferably 3-4 complete cycles. I am VERY pleased with replacement battery and I highly recommend it!NOTE: This battery does NOT come with the battery-to-motherboard cable. Be sure not to discard your original cable as you will need to use it with this replacement. It was VERY easy to change the cable to the new battery: just leave the cable plugged into the motherboard and tip the old battery up at an angle from the motherboard edge (there are "pins" that go under the front edge..) and then lift it out. Disconnect the cable from the battery by gently wiggling the connector sideways (laterally) until it pops-out. The new cable simply plugs straight into the new battery. Then route the cable through the middle canal on the bottom side of the battery as it was on the old battery. Insert the battery length-wise to the front of the laptop and then angle down the back. Hope this helps!

I'm not really techy and thought it would be complicated. My laptop was dying after about an hour or so. I decided to try this one out. I just received delivery a few minutes ago, so it's on charge. But installation was so easy, wow. Open back of laptop tiny little screws, unplug old battery, put new one in and charge. Awesome. Will update on battery status after charge.

I had a battery that was old a swelling to the point that it was starting to crack the laptop case.Replaced it with this one and now getting around 6 hours on a single charge, when I was barley getting an hour out of the old one.Replaced in under 5 minutes and was back up and running.Easy install as they give you everything except the cable to swap it out.

Not bad for replacement battery. Performance of the charge seems to be good enough. Nothing super nice, you're talking about a 5490. Overall good quality replacement.

I replaced the battery in a latitude 5580 and this was a direct replacement, exactly the same as the OEM. Popped right in and was working in windows right away and was charging. Made me quite happy. Comes with tools. Easy job.

Installed the battery and tested the motherboard for BIOS battery status—everything checked out fine. The battery was fully charged and installation went smoothly. It holds a charge well and lasts a very long time. Overall, very satisfied with the performance.
