Bought this for 4 year old LG WM 8100. Figured if OEM is leaking after 4 years I should try another manufacturer and of course the price is good. But the gasket has one big flaw, which some other reviewer mentioned by I ignored. The lower drain nipple is shallower on the inside than OEM. As a result, the spring clamp that comes with the washer does not hold the drain tub on tight. Resulting in water all over the floor.I've resolved this by replacing the spring clamp with a nickel size stainless steel screw clamp. It's working now. Hope it holds up long term.If you insist on using this gasket buy the clamp ahead of time.UPDATEAfter reinstalling the gasket, more leaking. I found that the other two drainage nipples where inferior and leaked (a lot). I'm returning the gasket and buying OEM.

This item came in and was a perfect match for the washing machine I was working on.Luckily when I was ordering it Amazon showed me the took recommended for doing the installation. I wouldn't want to attempt the job without the tool. I'll probably never use the tool for anything ever again, but it was still worth the money.

I found a YouTube video on how to replace this on our kenmore. Everything went basically as planned, except that the drain plug on this piece was not the correct length. The rubber nipple is too short and so the clamp will not properly engage on the rubber and coupling. What I ended up doing, and I should prefer this by saying this is definitely not ideal and may leak at some point, is to take a 1/2” Pex crimp coupling and sticking it between the existing drain on the washing machine and the rubber nipple on this boot. The pex coupling is longer than whatever plastic compression coupling the machine came with. The tip of the pex coupling just penetrates the tiny hole on the boot drain. Time will tell if this holds up but so far so good. I have attached a few pictures showing the boot drain nipple being too short, the pex coupling inserted, and a few of the pex coupling penetrating the boot drain.

Do yourself the favor and buy the tool to attach the spring. It was very difficult without it but my husband made do. Attaching the drain hose at the bottom was a little difficult but again have patience and you’ll get it. This was for an LG 6 years old. Fits perfectly no leaking.

NEW MDS47123608 Washer Door Boot Gasket arrived fast and at a great price. The bottom middle drain was very short but it worked. (The photo is upside down.) I would recommend buying the spring expansion plyers when you by the gasket. I had to use 2 sets of vice grips to stretch the spring around. be sure to connect the drain hoses BEFORE you put the spring on because you might have to spin it a little to get them to line up. my drain hoses were full of lint. I forgot to put a zip tie back on the light hole but it didn't leak.

First off I hate that it came all cloudy looking like a powder was on it. But I saved money and fixed my washer. Found a you tube video, it was hard not gonna lie but I think it’s because of the space I have it in. All in all it fit my LG large capacity washer and the family is happy!
