草刈り機のプラグ。5年使いましたが、時間的に100~150時間くらいなので、まだ使えると思い予備で購入。でも、新品と比べると200時間としても減ってます。なのでプラグ先を見て早めの交換を

Did not work, needed to replace the plug. Not worth sending back. Once I replaced the plug with a new one from a local retailer the machine started right up.

I purchased these for my 425 John Deere as I checked with NGK and wanted to know if the Solid NGK(4004) meant the top wire holder would not unscrew since it was called solid. They advised me that both the code and part numbers were the same except for one being you can remove the top metal piece the wire connects to is removeable NGK(5728) and the other NGK(4004) is not, so they are the same otherwise. I do not know why John Deere uses the removeable tip unless some other engine has a need to remove the tip with a different spark plug wire. Everyone seems to purchase the one that unscrews NGK(5728) since it is the one that replaces John Deere's plug and is the original equipment plug. I like the ones that do not unscrew so I ordered these and they are much cheaper from Amazon. NGK says they have the same price with them. So to save some $$$ order these solid (4004) instead of the unscrewable top (5928). Do not pay any attention to the picture that is just a universal photo since these plugs both 4004 & 5728 NGK have the same length that is shorter than thephoto shown.
