This is really cool. I got it to watch the wildlife behind my house - which is awesome, but also gives me Blair Witch vibes, so I can only do it for so long. The night vision is great. Good quality. It works really well and I've had absolutely no issues with it. The build quality and included case are great add-ons.I'm extremely happy with this

The description of this product shows full color, super sharp images of animals at night. In reality, what you see on the screen is a grainy black and white circle that appears in the center of the screen where the infrared light reaches. Yeah, it sees things that you can't see with your eyes in the dark, but the images on the site are very misleading. So just be aware what you are getting. In addition, I was hoping that I could look out the window into the woods behind our house, but when you are trying to look out a window, the IR light simply reflects off the glass and all you see is the reflection of the room that you are in. So you need to physically be outside in order to see anything outside. I would not have got these if I knew this limitation and the quality of the image.

This item is not night vision goggles so don't expect that you can wear them mounted and walk around. It will, however allow you to see in the dark while holding it out with your arms in a camera-style.It has multiple modes including being able to take photos and record video onto internal memory and an SD card at 10M.This device can do color day photos and IR night vision and video / photos in variable qualities. My gripes with it are there's a large spot where the IR emitter seems to be focused wrong and has a large blown out image where it's over exposed and around the edges are under exposed. I was able to sort of fix this by turning the IR down to minimum. The device itself, strap and carry case are all high quality and solid build quality. The packaging is neat and professional and is probably the highest tier device on the sub 100 entry level night vision viewers as far as quality. Great for kids and family fun.3/5 usable but not perfect.

No, they are not goggles. This device is a camera with infrared capabilities for viewing things at night. In my case, those things are usually what my dog is barking at and I can't see with the naked eye. I have played around with this camera a bit and it meets my expectations for an entry level infrared camera. I read thru the instructions a couple of times and then started scoping out the inside of my house with the lights turned down and then off. I played around with the infrared light level and managed to see what I wanted to see. It's not going to take professional quality pictures and videos at night but it will let you see what a human's naked eye can't see in the dark. The camera is well built for the price point and includes a top tier case. The neck strap is comfortable and has two quick release buckles that you can use if needed. The camera is very light compared to regular binoculars. The 32 GB micro SD was a nice touch and being able to use a standard USB-C charging cable was great. This will meet my needs for a simple, low cost night vision camera and will function just fine for those me.

I have a car that has a 'digital review mirror', basically rendering a rear camera on the mirror as a screen. The Iridesc night vision device seems very similar to me in the way it presents its picture. This is not like a binoculars where you get the depth of field right against your eyes which can then focus on various images, or a device you wear strapped to your head.. This renders a flat one dimensional screen, like a TV screen which renders night vision.I have to say that the build quality is very good on these, it is easy to handle and seems solid. The packaging and case and instructions are also top notch. You could drop this and not hurt anything, this is built so well.My experience had a few quirks though. The instructions on how to put in the 'memory card' were vague, luckily I put it in the correct way, because it seems to be stuck in there and won't come out, but that works. For most use, you will need to turn on the built in infrared light, which does allow a few different brightness settings. In my experience, this put a 'circle/halo of light' around the middle of the screen image, and seemed to help, although it could also detract or only light up part of the picture. I do understand that there are variables like how far you are from the subject etc which could affect the way it lights the scene. I live near a woods, and was looking at the woods from about 50 yards away or less.I also had a small beef with the 'take a picture or movie' button. This is a Great idea for a feature, but when I held this in my hands and tried to take a picture, the button is so solidly built that in order to press it down, the entire device moved a little, so that would take getting used to. This also can mount to a tripod, perhaps that would give more stability. This is my first experience with a night vision device, so at this price point I am unsure of the value for the money compared to other such devices. I did not try and export any images and see them on my TV so I cannot speak to the '4K' claims. The ability to timestamp the pics/movies is a nice feature. A 'motion detection' setting to take a picture (like a wildlife camera) would be nice to add. All in all, this is a very ambitious product which mostly delivers, but still has a few growing pains.

These appear to be an inexpensive equivalent of the old night vision camcorders with an IR source to illuminate and then a visible light and IR detector to capture video with. These were pretty easy to use and give a decent image quality for the price point. These will be tons of fun for a kid or young adult (or young at heart adult) to use for "backyard" surveillance and adventures.
